We have a marketing corner Bill, you can just advertise this spiritual healer here if you want. You don't need to pretend to be something you're not.

My take, my personal opinion, is that we need a traditional separation of church and state, in that whoever is moderating cannot also try and "teach" people towards some particular Party Line. The volume of posts is now so high that a moderator would have to be here every hour of the U.S. day and most of the night to keep up. I logged in yesterday and found that the discussion on Tzu's temp ban had grown by 27 pages in a day. I couldn't even start reading that. I'm not willing to spend that much time reading other people's bickering. Which is why I'm barely participating here and I'm fine with that, and I'm fine with the weight of my vote being reduced accordingly. My opinion of what would help the current situation is for Laughter to either step back into the laissez faire moderation style or - if he wants to continue ribbing / challenging and teaching - step back from being a moderator. I don't think it's possible to do both without causing resentment. Trying to "teach" someone who has neither asked for teaching, nor recognised the teacher as an authority is a hazardous undertaking at best. I would like to see this forum being more open and tolerant of a wider range of philosophies, even if their internal inconsistencies suggest a high level of self delusion. People move on when they're ready to move on, and confronting that delusion before it's ready to let go just gets egos up and bun fights perpetuated. Convincing people to "play nice" is a similarly futile exercise...well, I never had any success at it. P That's quite a collection of contradictions. Reefs, if you were to say "Do you see that X contradicts Y?" then I might find your post of some use.

It's just a question of time until 'pointer' will be part of her standard vocabulary. Then she will tell us that she is using that term since years. We should start telling her that she's right about everything for a while and watch what happens! You two are over-milking this "isn't Figgles hopeless" sketch. In my opinion. Smells like tag teaming.

looks like the frog has the upper hand in this scenario Do you think? I'd say that an impasse has been reached and neither of the participants are going anywhere.

You have had a glimpse, maybe even a good long gander at the naked exposed wonder and nature of this reality...a Kensho, a Cosmic Consciousness event...a 'universal self' realization...maybe many... And then What? Laundry, dishes, vacuum, dust, shower, shave, love, smile. That was certainly Kornfield's take on it. www.amazon.com/After-Ecstasy-Laundry-Heart-Spiritual/dp/0553378295

i have stated repeatedly that it is experimental ground here for me--i been wrong so many times, here and in my life---and i get up and learn-- Oh I think most people will get back up; The behaviour being discussed here is putting your hand up and saying out loud "Yup, I was wrong, you were right" oooh the burn. It burns me still, but I do enjoy (or perhaps better, appreciate) grabbing The Flyer by the neck and making it squirm. That's the work, right there, for me. I'm doing it a lot at the moment; I've got a younger colleague who's a sh!t hot programmer and he's - very nicely right enough - suggesting I might want to rip up 4 hours work and do it differently. Grist for the mill. P PS Extra points for adding "Thank you for aiding me in this direction" and watch as the Ego starts screaming in protest.

I have never described myself as a non-dualist. To be concise but probably not explained enough, as of now, for me, God exists as Supreme Ordering Intelligence, so, OTOneH there is God and OTOH there is everything else. The everything else is created, not an "extension" of God's being. Other than that, everything else IS nondual, so I am a non-dualist in the relative sense but not in an absolute sense. For me, SOI is Source of life, but our identity in any sense is not equal with SOI. The purpose of life is to unite with SOI. This is the journey of involution and evolution. Thank you for you post there SDP, it stayed with me. This idea that all life will eventually unite with God reminded me of a past pondering if the act of all life joining up is what causes God to come into being in the first place who then - freed from the constraints of time and space - creates the universe in a cosmic Ouroboros which only seems like a time paradox to us because we can't imagine living without effect following cause. Which reminded me of (or possibly I took it from) the Isaac Asimov story, The Last Question. It's short, and worth a read I think if you haven't seen it before. www.multivax.com/last_question.htmlBest Wishes, Peter

If the aim is open and honest discussion, do it. Just do it. The reflection of aggressive tactics distracts from that aim. In my opinion, it obviously doesn't work either. Try ignoring what you see as aggression and respond open and honestly. Set aside the need to reflect aggression back and see what happens. In total agreement, max. Very well said. I don't know how one can expect to get open and honest discussion under the pretense that others must change themselves in order to achieve it. Hear! Hear!

I'm curious where the moderator is.. the one that wants to preserve the integrity of the General Spiritual Discussion Section? The one that moves posts that he doesn't agree with, rather than enforce the reasons he says that there are two discussion sections; moderated and unmoderated.. Moderators. Well, barely plural. This one is on holiday currently. Out Q. P As one might imagine, Q complained to Laughter about this latest expulsion and Laughter brought me into that discussion. In the interests of transparency I share a (almost unedited) copy of my response here:
