Oh yeah, I would like to see that.
I saw ''Perks of Being a Wallflower'' recently, which I liked a lot, and recommend.
Zendancer has recommended a couple lately on other threads too.

Despite its spritiual title, the movie fell very short of being a good pointer. In fact I didn't pick up really any sort of spiritual message from it. Maybe I missed it.....

1. The Razor's Edge (Bill Murray version): a great story of a man who becomes disillusioned after WW1, goes in search of the truth, and eventually finds it (becoming transformed in the process). 2. Groundhog Day: a comedy about a self-centered cynical guy who has to repeat the same day, again and again, until he loses his self-centeredness 3. American Beauty: a dark comedy/satire about a man who realizes that he lost something important on the journey from youth to middle age. He tries to regain his youthful enthusiasm for life, but eventually realizes that there is something deeper and more important than sex or youthful vigor. By the end of the movie he sees life from a far more cosmic perspective. 4. Monster's Ball: a drama about two damaged people who discover love despite hugely different cultural backgrounds 5. Pushing Tin: a comedy about living in the moment 6. Enchanted April: a film about slowing down, letting go of ideas, and discovering love 7. Who's Driving the Dreambus? Interviews with several Neo-Advaita teachers 8. Regarding Henry: a high powered self-centered lawyer discovers that there are more important things in life than wealth and power. 9. Once Around: A touching story about a guy who is way over the top, but knows how to enjoy life in the moment. 10. Baghdad Cafe: Offbeat comedy about people who find paradise off the beaten track. 11. Casablanca: This is not an overtly spiritual movie, but it's a classic, and it shows that true love transcends the purely personal. 12. I Heart Huckabees: an existential comedy with a lot of humorous lines and scenes 13. Her: see review on a separate thread 14. The Great Beauty: see review on a separate thread

Yeah I would have to agree with you there and don't think you missed any deep spiritual message or anything but then again I could have missed something. This was definitely an Eckhart ripple from when he dropped the Power of Now Nonetheless makes me smile to see 'NOW' being pointed at once in a while from Hollywood, no matter how indirect, lol..

I agree. I try to support any movie that even slightly points at it these days. In fact the title is the only reason I rented this one from redbox. Hahaha. It was a pretty good movie though. Was happy to see a flick where the people weren't uber glamorous looking. More plain looking folks. Kinda like English flicks. Hahaha. Maybe Hollywood can push towards good acting and not just pretty faces in movies again someday.

Maybe Hollywood can push towards good acting and not just pretty faces in movies again someday. I hope not. If I want to see ugly people then I just go out to the street. I want to enjoy movie experience and not have to be annoyed by ugly people. And let's not kid ourselves. The difference between good acting and mediocre acting is very small, almost imperceptible to me. With someone like Daniel Day Lewis I notice that he is a really good actor, but with most the other actors I really don't notice and don't even care. It's much more important to see familiar faces and also interesting faces... or just actors that I like for some reason, for example guys like Steve Buscemi, he is ugly but still fun to watch. When I choose a new movie to watch first I look at the cast, if there are no familiar faces then I'm almost certain not to watch. And the second criteria is the rating, if the rating is low and I don't know the actors then I won't watch, but if the rating is low but there is a familiar actor (for exmple Ed Norton or Kevin Spacey then probably I will watch). And I will watch bad movies, even if the actors suck but I like them, for example I watched all the vampire movies with Kristen Stewart, just because of her, or for example I will watch any movie with Milla Jovovic just because she is in it. Bottom line is I want to be entertained. I don't want to watch some movie in order to admire the subtleties of acting, I don't even notice the subtleties, so why bore myself? For example there was this black and white movie a couple of years ago, I even forgot its title, it won oscar awards and everything, I said okay everyone says it's good so I'll try, even though it was b/w (and I hate that, usually i refuse to watch b/w), after 10 min i say screw this, this is boring pseudo-intellectual nonsense. I know I am mega intellectual, I am honest with myself and I have nothing to prove, no need to waste time on stuff i dont like. Some of my favourite movies: Independence Day GoodFellas Indiana Jones trilogy Alien trilogy Terminator 2 Back To The Future (all of them) Snatch Snake Plissken Die Hard 3? (The one with Samuel Jackson) Big Lebowski Good Will Hunting Wag The Dog Bourne trilogy 12 monkeys Star Trek (everything, movies and the series)
