Board Description
Asynchronous Experiment
An experiment to engage in reading a book with other members but without starting a debate but leaving a trail of impressions, inspirations maybe irritations.

This description (as at 2021-06-28) will no doubt change as this novice board manager and his friends. Explore methods on how to operate and interact.

On-line Weekly, monthly book clubs have a fixed meeting time, and that excludes some folks from participating.

On line email Self-Inquiry Groups tend to have a different rythym. All particpants views via email go to a moderator / collector (M-C) for a fixed deadline each week and then M-C sends a consolidated email report to each participant in the group.

The idea here is to experiment with an ASYNCHRONOUS approach to a collective personal reading, interpreting a book and sharing ones own impressions, inspirations and irritations.

We hope to consider a chapter of each month and spend the first two weeks of each month perusing the chapter WITHOUT publicly posting anything.

The moderators will at the end of weeks one and two release all postings. The next two-three weeks will be for reading through other folks posts of their impressions, inspirations and irritations or insights, and commenting asking questions in the spirit of self-inquiry..

Why not encourage allow posts at anytime. To avoid the possible impact of priming on other readers and or what is called the "don't think of pink elephants or brown polar bears" phenomenom ;)

The June TAT forum also included the quote from Richard Rose

“Don't read past an inspiration point. Dwell on it a while.”
