Ever see his "you see NOTHING! .. not even (** THIS! **)"? .. my favorite spiritual video of all time. Bar none. Love that guy. He's right. He's talking about the conceptual fog that is clouding every and any kind of perception. There's a deep mirth that rises up whenever I see that (or even just remember it, like now) 'cause it's like Universal impersonal slapstick. Yes, of course, he's more right in that instant than anyone could ever be.

Is it really on 'your own devices' when the evidence simply becomes too obvious to continue to ignore? Yes, because it's really easy to find examples of people clinging to obvious and outright lies despite clear and convincing evidence of them. So what would you say those 'own devices' are that has one climbing their way out of such a fallacy after clinging to it for years?
Tano has not gone into much detail concerning the seeing through of her false belief that said she had the real Jed, but from what I can garner, it sounds as though the evidence simply reached a tipping point where it just became far too obvious to anyone who had the merest semblance of logic/reason.

bye for now tano. Wish you the best. I'll leave you with this: figgles' point about trading one impersonator for someone who very well might be another is worth considering. Yes. In place of this mad search for 'the real' Jed Mckenna, she'd do much better to focus upon what's behind her incessant, driving interest/need to know the identity behind the Jed character.
But I don't think she's interested in that.

To end self-deception one must apply self-honesty, and that happens naturally - in relative terms - as one becomes conscious of the content and dynamic of their mind.

& on that note, It would be cool if Tano would share a little more about coming to see she was wrong about forum Jed.

So why does UG call his "enlightenment" the calamity? Found it. Here is why.

When tano arrived here I went to the forum. I was there about a week, did some back and forth with "Jed" about 5 times. I stopped when I figured we were at an impasse. Haven't been back.

Did you have the sense then that it was the actual author of the books, or were you aware through your back & forth, it likely wasn't? It didn't take me long to see some gross inconsistencies between book Jed/forum Jed as I read his posts there.

Yes, that's what I recall. I always thought it was because he had a complete physical, mental and emotional breakdown. I mean, his entire system went haywire for about a year or so. Seems I was wrong.

It didn't take me long to see some gross inconsistencies between book Jed/forum Jed as I read his posts there. It was mostly that I didn't have a sense that the 'real Jed' would have any desire to communicate with people in that way, online, strangers. .. But more so, I didn't think tano's southeast Asia Jed was the real Jed. I couldn't see Jed saying and doing the things she said. Don't know, did tano still maintain she knew the real-book-Jed?

Seems I was wrong. I have a different sense of what it means to awaken than expressed mostly here on ST's. I browsed the Steven Norquist book Haunted Universe because of that. Don't recall much of anything about it, except it's probably genuine (recall recalling that) in some sense. And that's also why UG stuck with me, something genuine-actual occurred (your quote is what I remembered). I think David Soma is genuine-actual. Jed seems to have genuine-actual behind what he writes. I'm wary of it's all peace and love and 'good' and happiness etc. Reality is "hardnosed". My bs detector has a very high threshold. I'm a "dark night of the soul" kind-of "person".
