Ok let's change the tune just for a second Superbowl anyone? Stealers or Packers? I'm giving odds Sorry for the rest of you out there please feel free to ignore this post. Michael Well, I've never heard of the "Stealers" but the name is so cool that I think I ought to shift my allegiance. LOL. Actually, I'm supporting the Packers because my daughter's fiancee is so strongly attached to them that I suspect my daughter's life might be miserable for a week or two if the Packers lose. ha ha. I've enjoyed watching both teams so much that if it weren't for the familial issue, I could happily watch the game and root for both teams. Here's hoping we have a close and exciting game regardless of who wins.

It's just something that is not on the menu when you live in Panama. However now since I am in the cold Upstate NY it seems fit to do so. I like both teams I predict a close gave with Packers +7 we will see. Michael

Joking aside, I know Michael is very well informed when it comes to nonduality. He had lots of direct experiences and lots of direct encounters with well-known teachers.

Hi no problem Ivory thanks I am really not trying to upset anyone nor does my ego give a crap. I don't think that you're trying to upset anyone Michael, it's the "not giving a crap" part that pisses me off. Like I said, you have a strong presence on this board and there are those that interpret your advice as truth. Good for your ego, not so good for others. If you honestly care about others, I'd only ask that you careful and honest with what you post. A good question to ask is "Can I absolutely know that is true?" and "Does this reflect my own experience?" An honest post reflects one's personal experience, that is the only way to post truthfully. Unless one has awakened, he/she has no idea what is required to actually awaken despite what the all mighty sages say. The other thing to consider is that everyone is at a different stage in their journey. There is no "one size fits all" advice. Telling people to just "give up" may or may not be what people need to hear at that point in time. Back to giving up. If you sincerely think that's good advice, how has that been working out for you? You awake yet? michael: Just give up ivory: Can you absolutely know that is true? And in the context of awakening, has this worked for you and does this reflect your own experience? michael: ?? Another thing to consider is that there are a good number of folks on this board that have actually awakened. To some it's quite obvious who they are, but others may not be able to make that distinction. Not to put them on a pedestal, but is it possible that the might be more qualified to answer some of the questions on this board? That's all.

I only have a strong presence cuz I post a lot! As far as give up that can mean a whole lot of things my friend. What I say is what has worked for me which is yes give up the search, stop seeking by trying to figure something out or make it make sense. Yes I am awaken but so are you and everyone else in the true sense of it. If you are looking for something more that is a mistake. There is no more and this is why the seeking can lead to a miserable life which can also be good because then you may just exhaust yourself, feel hopeless and just give up and sometimes this is needed.
The only thing that is required to "wake" up is to stop! Can you do just that without adding anything? Stop and be still and look at yourself for once. This is not a ego thing Ivory it's how it works at least for myself. I am no more awake than you or anyone. The only difference if there is one is I have seen and what is seen can never be unseen. Then you know it but it really makes little difference if you know it or not because it IS regardless that is why I say just be happy with what IS it will not get better than that ever. It's only the pressure you put on yourself that can make a simple peaceful life a mess.
“You may think that you are the doer – I assure you that you have never done a thing” – Ramesh – and “According to my concepts” -Ramesh
Ramesh: “What is the significance of the statement ‘No one can get enlightenment’? This is the very root of the teaching. It means that it’s stupid for any so-called master to ask anyone to do anything to achieve or get enlightenment. The core of this simple statement means, according to my concept, that enlightenment is the annihilation of the ‘one’ who ‘wants’ enlightenment. If there is enlightenment – which can only happen because it is the will of God – then it means the ‘one’ who had earlier wanted enlightenment has been annihilated. So no ‘one’ can achieve enlightenment and therefore no ‘one’ can enjoy enlightenment.”
