Unacceptable personal attack going on here Sunshine, please knock it off. Also I don't think Gopal is hacking other member's computers. If your computer gets hijacked to visit porn sites, then I suggest you give it a good scrub. I use AVG (free version) myself and haven't had any problems with it. I think Gopal is doing very well writing in a language that isn't his first. I make horrible mistakes when I write/speak in French. Fortunately most people are quite forgiving about it. Of course, I don't go around claiming any proficiency.... |

What is your serious issue, that people are annoying you here? We always meet in this common ground all the time Peter, When people gang together and start to hit me with huge iron rod and when I was bleeding, you would say to them 'Hey guys please leave Gopal', When I touch someone(touch I said not even a hit) with a little Stick, fierce anger would raise up in you and you say to me out of huge anger that 'Hey Gopal Don't force my hand, I will ban you' Ok so you're feeling like people are attacking you and the 'rules' aren't being applied fairly? Well that's fair comment. It partly depends on what I happen to read in my particular time zone and (being in Europe) I'm more likely to read your posts as they come up and miss what's being said through my night when the US is online. There was an intention to have a number of moderators to cover 24 hrs but that hasn't proved possible. When Satch was writing about me 'IDIOT','Stupid','Go away from this forum','You ignorant piece of sh!t' for many pages, you were very silent, meditative silent, you could see even right now Ahh, now don't confuse my choosing to be silent on a matter with not being here at all. Even IF Satch was simulating having a meltdown in order to prove some point, it would still be unacceptable. But he deleted his account and left before I caught up with the thread which made me think he really had genuinely lost the plot. If he'd still been here I'd have banned him. I didn't realise it had bothered you so much. I see you replied with "YOU ARE NOT IN PEACE DUDE, PAY ATTENTION HA HA" Looks more like pouring fuel on the fire to me. I don't know Peter, when I say something you always take it lightly, but when other people complaining about me, you forcefully warning me and banning me. Alfio hasn't sworn at you, he hasn't called you a POS, he hasn't actually broken any forum rules. So from where I'm standing, putting on my big Moderator badge and saying "Look here you, stop bothering this guy" is a pretty solid response in the face of not particularly strong provocation. Most often I only step in when people are being thoroughly offensive. But you're not happy. People are rarely happy when I moderate. I do try to make sure that both parties have equal levels of dissatisfaction after I've got involved. You are missing me in this place completely, that's what other people are thinking, I said that I can't know, I did not say that they are figments and also I made my point very clear that I believe they are real. So you were arguing the same thing that Tenka was saying? Ok that wasn't clear to me. I assume that if there's an argument going on that people aren't saying the same thing to each other. I can see how that's an error on my part. |

I lost the confidence on Peter now, He is not even understanding why I have written those lines to Tenka, He thinks that I insulted him, Obviously I was not, even Tenka might be knowing that. I am reporting about the serious issue but he is not even considering about that. Perhaps he might only listens to certain people like Reefs, I guess. Now I understand that whatever I speak, Peter is not going to consider and he would take it lightly So it's waste of energy for me to report anything to him. Well I'm sorry to hear you say that Gopal. What you got from me is a direct instruction to Alfio to stop what he was doing. Seemed like pretty clear moderation to me, I thought you'd have been happy with that. I am "considering", I'm just not coming to the conclusion you want me to. You think I'm not getting your point. Well I'm not sure about that but you're definitely not getting mine. I do not think that you insulted Tenka. Yes you're making a point about Solipsism and that one can't tell if one's parents are real or not. My point is that in jumping on your high horse when someone says something about your parents, you show that they're very real to you in any event. I say you can't know whether other individuals are real, Said that, one of the possibility that you are the only one individual who is real, If that were the case, who can bring your into this world? Its really quite wanferful to have you here an off the street Gopal. On the Street you could get run-over having been created by your Mothers Egg and your unreal Father God. This post was reported by Gopal. So first off: Alfio, Gopal has had enough so stop now. If he's not seen the point after 3 posts, you're only digging him in further. Gopal: Because you're reacting against your parents being insulted, you've lost yourself here. Can you see: you were writing to Tenka asking him why his parents need to be real. He stated that his parents are real. You stated that they need not be. And then your parents are called into question and you snap right back into cultural conditioning in a heartbeat. "How dare you denigrate my parents you scoundrel!" They appear to be extremely real to you, despite what you say. He's only able to "pull you in" because you took the bait and are holding onto it while he yanks your line. P |

It isn't though. That's what Enigma is trying to show you. Living, is the teacher. Yes, that can happen. It doesn't usually, though, does it? I think what needs to happen - as with all student/teacher relationships - is that the student has to accept the authority of the teacher before real progress can be made. Otherwise the results could be quite painful, one way or another.  |

I have no interest in determining the absolute source of my human energy. I hear that. For me it's interesting, partly because I'm moderating and partly because I have an interest in motivations. what were you conveying by that, what does that signify about laughter and myself? You were pointing out to Laughter that his posts increasing in size indicated an arousal - what I would think of as a ramping up of energy. You yourself are well known for voluminous posting, so that triple there is a play on "Pot calling the kettle black" ie you're seeing something in Laughter that - I think - is one of your own characteristics. And that's not the first time I've had that impression; previously you accused him of writing controversial posts because he needs the attention. I'm back to energy, motivation...basically I'm of the opinion that people must "get" something from their interactions here, or they wouldn't do it. Why share your own experience of how you didn't have the energy to continue a discussion, then express a comparitve you theorise we must have an unlimited supply? And what do you think are our motivations for the continued interaction? You don't see an immediate connection? I don't have the energy or motivation to post. You and others appear to have both so I'm interested in why that is and what the mechanism might be. Where is the energy coming from? Drama creates energy, it pulls people in. I think that's why people create drama - because energy is an enjoyable sensation. Being right, winning, feeling attacked, getting allies "on side", feeling wanted/accepted these are all things that generate sufficient energy for the act of putting fingers to keys. I've heard it expressed as "feeding", but there's also the science lens - looking at Dopamine. I dare swear that some people here are motivated by pure altruism, of wanting to contribute something positive to the world. That's rare, but I assume it happens. Saying what I think your motivations are would be pure speculation on my part. I can't imagine you telling me I'd nailed it, if I were to try. |

On a more serious note, how do you determine the amount of energy i am creating and using? A glib answer would be that I multiple rate of posts x length of posts x emotional payload quotient - admittedly a very subjective measure. To give it more thought, from a physics standpoint we say that energy is neither created nor destroyed, so the question should be: how are you transducing this energy and where is it coming from? It may feel to you that your writing is effortless, but I think you'd agree that both thinking and moving require energy, so I suspect that the effortlessness I'm assuming you experience are due to the fact that energy is freely flowing. So where is it coming from? |

he sent you a few math slides, so you never spoke to him again ?? Who said anything about maths? No it was spiritual, philosophy, feeling stuff. Quite intense for a guy/guy interaction...well, from my experience anyway. We'd hung out at college, stayed up all night talking a few times. There was a real connection there, or so it seemed at the time. Actually being able to talk about things that matter to me and not have to pretend any interest in sports is a rare jewel in my life. The letter writing thing was after we left college. I guess as a long distance relationship it just didn't have the staying power. |

Kettle:Pot = #000000. I had that problem with a friend from college. I'd write him something and he'd write me back responding to my points and adding a few of his own. Then I'd reply to his points and add my own and the whole thing snowballed. One day I got 8 sides of A4 through the post and I just didn't have the motivation to respond. So the conversation just stopped there and I never wrote to him again. The energy and motivation you guys manage to burn through / self generate appears to be indefatigable, however. |
