Adi Da Samraj had lots of sex slaves and slept with loads of his students. If all these allegations were true then he wasn't a spiritual teacher.

Adi Da Samraj had lots of sex slaves and slept with loads of his students. If all these allegations were true then he wasn't a spiritual teacher. I am not going to explain, defend or justify Adi Da to anyone. Read his works, listen to his talks and decide for yourself. As stated in a previous post, I can only speak for myself and my experience was very positive with Adi Da. I can unequivocally say that Adi Da was a realized being. There have been negative allegations about spiritual teachers since time began whether true or false. But let me ask you where is it written that a spiritual teacher cannot be an ass and realized at the same time. Paradox, yes. All things are possible.

Actually my first intention was to give John Sherman the first place There is something about him... I don't know how to put it in words. The only teacher (who is alive) whom I trust totally. Not even my personality or mind, but something in me trusts him totally. Interesting feeling.

Karen -
Thanks for the link to Nisargadatta Maharaj. I had not read anything by him - inspiring!
(And John Sherman - quite the character...)

Top 5 of breakthrough epiphany type stuff: 1. Jed McKenna 2. PD Ouspensky 3. UG Krishnamurti 4. A Course in Miracles - Helen Schucman (channeling) 5. Ed Muzika (distilled practices derived from Nisargadatta Maharaj and Ramana Maharshi and Robert Adams)* There have been many others. Eckhart Tolle pointed the way a couple of times. So did these other people and spiritual works: J. Krishnamurti, Lao Tzu, Jane Roberts (channeling), the Bhagavad Gita, Meister Eckhart, Walt Whitman, Emerson, Thoreau, Douglas Harding, and others. *I found this link through this web site, and I am always grateful for those who post things like this. itisnotreal.com
