Good question. The "me" that would merge the story together is, itself, part of the story. A way to see this is to notice one's thoughts with the attitude "I wonder what I'm going to think next?" this can help show the distinction between the thoughts themselves and one who is aware of the the thoughts. It's not the individual that creates the story, it's the individual that is part of the story. It's kind of like the process of discovering that you are the reader of the book, and not the main character of the book. Yes, the book is from the main character's perspective, but all scenarios are really just imagined by the reader. It doesn't matter what the main character does or doesn't do in the story, we remain the reader nonetheless, and it's a process in discovering how that is already the case, and has been this whole time. Does that make sense? Hi LM. So what I find difficult to work out, is how do we merge together the story that is happening with what seems to be happening to us individually. If we see that’s it’s only a story, than things seem so impersonal. What motivation should we have to comply with the story, or to change it. There appears for me a natural impulse to change the storyline of ‘bad things’ that are happening.

I am not saying they are not real. But I'm not saying the ARE real either. I am, perhaps, saying that they are real as an experience. And, as an experience, they are just as real as the experiences of starvation and death (when those arise). If you are not sure, I recommend not eating for a couple days (drink water though!) and see if hunger is a real experience for you. I would bet that it is. Are you saying people and God are not real? Lightmystic people and God are real. Starvation and death are not. Im going out now but i will do a post when i get back and explain why.

Well....All I can say now is that you guys seem to have it all figured out . I can tell that there’s no more questioning for you. I can only aspire to someday end this search myself. (So I really hope that chapter is written in the story!) “So God creates the idea of a person, which can't be anything other than what God is (because "nothing exists apart from God") and from within this idea, goes on to create the idea of a God that is separate from the person God believes himself to be.” Now that I know that I’m an idea of an idea of an idea, I’m truly trying to now come up with another wonderful original idea which I know will never be my own. Thanks all of you for trying to clarify life for me. It occurred to me that I was a little less anxious about it these last few days. Thanks Egnima for putting a humorous spin to my questions, when I look at the part I’m playing here, it is somewhat entertaining. I’m now well strapped into my seat on this doomed flight, my oxygen mask ready, just hoping for a soft landing. "It doesn't matter what the main character does or doesn't do in the story, we remain the reader nonetheless, and it's a process in discovering how that is already the case, and has been this whole time." Hi LM, I suppose I’m in the process of discovering this and it does make sense, I just haven’t seen it directly yet. But you know, it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t ask another question. What can you say about a possible negative energy or force or influence being a part of God, in which He (We) have no control over and all He (We) can do is try to overcome it? (Heaven forbid it being outside of God, this being a non dualistic discussion and all!) Much Love & Thanks, Notme

Notme: Your last post captures the flavor of what's actually going on here, and being able to laugh at yourself and accept the fact that you don't know what you don't know will go a long way toward helping you discover what you want to know. In fact, the story of who you think you are is an enormous joke, and the joke is on you. Everyone who discovers the truth ultimately spends a lot of time laughing at the wonder of it all.
