I experience sadness at times, and I'm not sure I can separate sadness totally from regret. But what I'm seeing in the last 24 hours, is that 'revenge' is more problematic (and useless) than regret. Sometimes retaliation is not revenge. Israel has survived for 75 years, because everyone knows they retaliate. Hamas has created an unbelievable mess, an unimaginable mess.

I believe neither one is constructive. Regret is negativity and, when untended, will escalate and cause pain and suffering to the one that regrets. Revenge is an even further step on that escalation. You need to start with adopting a proper attitude, then make proper choices. The present is the point of power I think that depends what we are trying to construct. If regret is part of sadness, then honoring that sadness could be seen as 'constructive', if inner wholeness is the goal. Living a life of regrets...I would say is destructive. It depends what those concepts mean: "honoring sadness", "inner wholeness". To me, they don't mean anything. Pragmatically: an emotion in me that I want to perpetuate, it is a positive emotion. If I prefer not to have it again, it is a negative emotion. Emotions create expectations, and not the other way around. They generate my reality, that later I perceive and respond to it. Feelings are intellectualized emotions: sadness, regret, compassion, ... Innerly, everything is connected, so wholeness can't be a goal. There is a disconnect from the ego's perspective, which makes it act in manners that aren't constructive from the point of view of the higher psychic gestalts: personality, whole-self, entity, ... Spiritual development is supposed to bridge over this disconnect, so that the ego consciously fulfills its role.

Do you have a hypothesis why Jews are one of the most persecuted people over the "known" history? An intuitive interpretation should provide a lesson and a guidance, according to your current needs. You could use the I Ching for that.

Yes, retaliation can have differing motives, and revenge is just one of them. Im definitely seeing a bloodthirsty lust for revenge being demonstrated by some folks in last 24 hours. Retaliation can be appropriate but i would still hope the retaliator takes responsibility for their role in the creation of a situation. That's partly what distinguishes accountability from punishment.

Honoring means accepting the validity of, and in the case of sadness, allowing it rather than suppressing it. Wholeness is the acceptance of all our different aspects, rather than trying to split parts off. From a place of wholeness, one can then choose wisely which aspects they prefer to experience.

You could use the I Ching for that. Talking to old friends recently, and some of the Asians in the conversation were talking about racism they experienced at school. That racism definitely existed and it's true that many of us stood by and did nothing to stop it. It was clear that there was still just a bit of bitterness left over from years ago, and some of us expressed remorse for what they went through. I hope that expressed remorse helped them. Then I reflected that, even though I was a white kid, I definitely experienced being bullied too. I was also aggressed upon by strangers, and was once punched by a total stranger on a bus, for reasons he didn't explain lol I guess what I'm saying is that I think most folks have their own shit to deal with and it probably doesn't help to hold a consciousness of being uniquely persecuted. The universal laws indicate that it will continue to recreate itself. For balance, I believe life is more complex than 'I create my reality', and there are times to hold folks accountable for their actions towards others e.g Nuremberg was surely necessary given the context.

I was looking for a different angle. yes, I understand. I believe humans, as a whole, are generally sharing the same explorations, 'lessons' and themes i.e there is a universality to our experience. But some people, and groups, are exploring particular themes more than others. I could speculate more directly on your question, but don't feel it's appropriate right now. So I went for a more indirect response.

I was/am interested more in points of view the combine the theme of this forum with the theme of this thread, in lessons and choices that could/should be drawn from the historical persecution of the Jews, (and current persecution of the Palestinians, as it is the case), drawn by and for you. It isn't only about these events, and not even about the Israeli state.

F or balance, I believe life is more complex than 'I create my reality', and there are times to hold folks accountable for their actions towards others e.g Nuremberg was surely necessary given the context. It is really that simple. However, what people usually don't realize, even those who are familiar with LOA, is that the energy follows your attention and so when you read or talk about unwanted, you add energy to it and start including the essence of it into your experience. That's how people get what they don't want and why watching the news can be so detrimental to your well-being in the long run. So in that sense, if your goal is world peace, your time would be spent much more productively watching cat videos or unicorn cartoons than discussing the latest atrocities you've seen in the news. Because one would be withdrawing attention from unwanted and therefore allowing what is wanted, the other would be putting more attention to unwanted and therefore attracting more unwanted.

But you don't have a way to stop regretting. You don't have a choice. There is a way Realize your true nature and there are no regrets… there simply is what is Realizing your inner will tell you the truth that there is control over what's happening over there and in here. It unfolds without your intervention.

I didn't know. I believe that, aware or not, we all receive inner guidance all the time.
