Growing up I had 3 uncles who were dairy farmers, their homes in sight of my home. Another uncle lived next door, he was a carpenter, but he had hunting dogs and pigs and a horse (my cousin's horse). From time to time for one reason or another I happened to be in the fields, so you had to watch where you stepped. So this is just info...
I think it was either in Glimpses of Nothingness or The Empty Mirror Janwillem van de Wetering gives this short "aphorism"/observation, When a pickpocket sees a Priest, all he sees are his pockets.

One's pickpocket is another's Robin Hood. One's priest is another's snake-oil sales-person . Who's right? All of them!

There was a famous actor who used to use the term "Winning." What made his version of winning so remarkable was that he was completely out of his mind on drugs. And yet his "winning" appealed to a lot of people (a lot of people who should never run for politics). Winning is so sad. You learn more about yourself when you lose. Someone tried to teach me recently that "one's true nature" is a stereotype. Is it? Maybe so. I don't care about this argument. I just tried moving some thoughts. You should try it some time. Yes it is impossible to give up control over what you are saying and still maintain your focus. But that's what I meant by suprises. Life sucks without creative surprises. People using terms to know things; people using stereotypes and cliches to know things; people using their ability to frame perception to know things; this is a forgiveable offense. But I have to see it first for what it is. Person who manipulates perception is merely disillusioned. How can I get mad at someone for doing this when I have just rubber-glued it back to him with no tag backs. One's true nature is unique, so it can't be a stereotype. "What's good is bad what's bad is good, you find out when you reach the top, you're on the bottom". IW BD

May the pickpocket lift a coin, one side with the image of Caesar, and the other of a full Moon.

Reefs has asked us to continue our ~discussion~ privately... All, That's correct. For the sake of clarity and transparency, I'll repost my original message: As I've already said here here and here, I don't mind if you want to talk about politics on a meta level or using current political events as an example to illustrate your point in a spiritual discussion. What I do mind though is purely political discussions of current events based on whatever the media decides we should discuss on a given day because I see this going counter the original purpose and intent of this forum. Keep in mind this is primarily a non-duality forum, so allowing political discussions on a meta level is already a major concession, IMO. I just deleted SDP's thread about President Trump having tested positive and going into quarantine. We don't need a news ticker on this forum. That's where I definitely draw the line. I consider that as spam and will treat it accordingly. I did that with Krishnaraja already, who was just posting news clip after news clip earlier this year. So if you want to join our private discussion, let me know, I'll put you on that list. If you are already on that list and have no interest in such a discussion, let me know, I'll take you off that list. I'll keep this thread open in case someone actually wants to talk about politics on a meta level or the spiritual side of politics. So, enjoy your other discussions and stay focused, R I’d like to join in as could be valuable. I got really caught up in it all and had to do some major refocusing, am in a better place now.
