Good to see you back. No point in fighting this, let's see what happens, it may really work out fine...a change for the forum might be refreshing... if it goes bad, then 'take it to the mattresses'  Reefs, I appreciate the fact that you said your input would be minimal, for my part I think that is wise as it is far easier to be objective from a slight distance. Personally I don't want to find myself arguing with you about something and also having to consider the fact that I am arguing with a moderator that doesn't do temp bans hehe. Fighting? It's Reefs that is trying to fight and control a world, symbolic of the forum, whose very nature is insecurity, impermanence, and is always changing. It's conceptual folly. Yup, exactly my thinking. Well, there's one exception regarding temp bans. There are temp bans on demand. If you should feel like spending too much time here on the forum than is currently good for you or when you want to leave but can't because of sheer habit then you can ask for a temp ban of your choice, like a couple of days, a week, a month etc. They do that on other forums as well. Anybody interested in that kind of arrangement just send me a PM. |

Source, the way I read your recent series of comments is that you just come here for the food fighting and crusading. If that should indeed be the case, then you have to make a decision real soon. We can go thru the motions of 2nd and 3rd warning and such, but given your frank admission of your purpose for being here, it's very unlikely that your goal of framing me for your departure will succeed - no matter how this is going to play out in the end. So I suggest to not play that game. |

It's really a slap in the face to Peter who's hands off approach is really the only way for a forum to grow. It should be interesting to see if Reefs censoring of the one-upmanship and double bind game will be unbiased and enforced against everyone, which I highly doubt. The forum of late has become more detached from Reality then at any other time. Sad really... It has always been detached from Reality, exemplified by threads such as 'I am the world'. I'm just asking reefs why the need to slice and dice up the world and limit discussion to the "spiritual", and it's past my bedtime.... That would be reintroducing what we are trying to get rid of. We've got enough controversy already and we are still in the middle of a transition phase. So the less distraction, the better. A basic tone or vibration has to be established. Once that's done, the forum will run on its own and only keep and attract those people that are in alignment with that basic tone or vibration. So I'll be moderating a bit more hands on for a month or two until things are stable enough and everyone knows exactly what is okay and what isn't and then I'll just let the forum be. The final goal is no moderation whatsoever and let LOA do the work instead. Similar to what is said in the Daodejing about the highest form of governing a country. But that requires a mature community. And we are not quite there yet. But so far I can say it looks very promising. And we've basically been there once already, so it can be done again. |
