What is politics according to philosophers?
Political philosophy can be defined as philosophical reflection on how best to arrange our collective life - our political institutions and our social practices, such as our economic system and our pattern of family life. (Wikipedia)

Govern a great nation as you would cook a small fish
If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.
Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
As soon as you have made a thought, laugh at it.
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.
Stop thinking, and end your problems
Lao Tzu

Sun Tzu's The Art of War and Machiavelli's The Prince are good books.

I have pointed out before that it is not possible for the western mind to grasp Chinese philosophy. Since I started this topic, I feel compelled to engage you to set things right. Below is my attempt to intuit the meaning in those Chinese characters of the first two lines in Chapter 60 of the Tao Te Ching.
1. If the Tao were to come upon the world (thereby, instilling harmony), 以 道 莅 天下 2. Then ruling a big country would be (as easy) as frying a small fish. 治 大 國, 若 烹 小 魚.

Random thoughts. There is a member here named Reefs who knows about 10million times more about these topics than I. I'd almost bet he could read those Chinese characters, whereas I can not. He likely also knows what 'like cooking a small fish' is pointing to, whereas my interpretation would be slightly off. However, if you wanted to go down that path, buckle the fuck up, as I would say. We've already seen what an encounter with reefer can do to a person.. next thing you know ten years have passed and that scary fucker is still haunting your dreams! But you're not going to do that, so good for you. OK, what about me. Well, I don't know man, but I'll certainly talk to you if you want. But it seems we might want to start with 'to what do you identify?' I suppose I identify as a man, but to be honest I don't know what that means. At one time in my life I identified as a 'Southerner', since that is the location I was born in. Similarly I once identified as an 'American' for essentially the same reason. I am 'an American' but that's just a data point, I don't identify as one as if that were something special or important. That specific data point has no meaning unless you ascribe some to it.

That specific data point has no meaning unless you ascribe some to it. It means that you respect the arbitrary and collectively agreed definitions/categorizations, and you probably respect the historical/cultural significance of the idea of 'biological reproduction'. Unless and until I see strong reason for those definitions/categories to change, I'll respect them too.

You evaded the question, you sree have (started with) a western mind. No evasion. I said that I was from NYC. Trace my posts. They practically lay out my life story as a person. At some point, I managed to get out of that role. Jim Carrey tried that. Buddhahood didn't turn out as great as he thought. He got twisted out of shape. This is why you guys, like Richard Gere, are playing patty cake spirituality. I suspect the Dalai Lama isn't trapped in the bs. I know a crook when I see one. Given the chance, he would be happy to be the spiritual leader of the USA, ride Air Force One, and grace the Oval Office like Bill Clinton did. The Pope isn't a crook. He is just clueless and is no better at being a Catholic than Joe Biden. My grandma was better. She had a relationship with Jesus. She was in love. The Pope is not; otherwise, he would not be woke and accessible to Elon Musk, Joe Biden, and Nancy. God and the Devil don't smile at each other and shake hands ever. Do you get what I am saying, stardust?
My mother gave birth to me at our Fifth Avenue home. She had a midwife help her do it. My father wasn't a party to that madness. To this day, I can't figure out why they got married. I don't fault my mom for going au naturale but her obsessive compulsion over it got to my father. He was also obsessive-compulsive in another way: perfectionist. Mom had had it with him when I was 4. She dragged me to live with her in the West Village. I need to stop here. Too many words and farmer doesn't like that.

But also, he might be scared of a backhand now but it might not always be that way

Too many words and farmer doesn't like that. You still didn't answer the question. (You said a westerner couldn't understand the Tao, yet [you say] you do). You still don't get it. When you talk about tons of other people in this manner, and too a lot of famous people, you are in fact talking about yourself. Some people here have integrity, many in fact. That is, they are honest about what they have realized. If you can't discern that, what does it tell you about yourself? Jesus had friends in all levels of culture. God and the Devil? You haven't read the book of Job. (The initial answer is probably in the first chapter). Of course there are deeper levels of the Bible. You embarrass yourself sree. I think I have finally learned my lesson.
