A couple of years ago, when mass bannings became a thing on Twitter, Scott Adams once suggested that banning people would be okay if necessary, but to balance things out and to make it fair again, it would be a lot better if there were an amnesty every year or every two years, when all those who have been banned would have their bans automatically removed again. And I found that to be an interesting idea and worth a try. So I was wondering, since Satch is already back, if anyone here wants to see Figgles back, too. After all she was central to the solipsism debate and the main reason for the forum split. If a majority of members wants to see her back, I'll make arrangements. If a majority wants to leave things as they are right now, we'll leave things as they are. Let me know what you think. You can vote and also leave comments.

Your poll has very limited options! I'd push for one that offered, 'yeah I know her, she's fine, maybe hard headed in a way she would never admit to, but then she'll ask me to explain my accusation so that then she could refute it' But maybe thats too many characters to fit  |

I enjoyed her posts though rarely agreed with them. But heck I enjoy reefs posts ........ often ........occassionally...........rarely. 😁

This is one of the reasons why I posted this poll, I wanted to take the temperature, if it is just you or a general consensus here. I don't care particularly either way. But Interesting. There seems to be a total lack of enthusiasm among the membership to have Figgles back. Only 3 votes so far and 2/3 "hell no"! Sorry Figgles. It seems you are not welcome here anymore. Take it for what it is. |

I think it's only fair that figgles should be able to see exactly how you have worded the three questions together with the fact that her presence would require hands-on moderating. After seeing this I'm sure she will be literally salivating to get back to this spiritual discussion level playing field.Do you want to see Figgles back? Oh yes! I can't wait to have her back. We have so much to talk! Figgles who? Don't know, don't care. Hell no! I'm still having nightmares from last time when she was crusading around! It's an open poll. Everyone should be able to see it. I didn't lock it and I didn't hide it. So, you are saying from Figgles' side it is also a "hell no"? Well, then it is settled. From the membership it is a clear "hell no" and from her side as well. Case closed. |

This is not a fair poll and you know it. You've loaded the questions to be biased against her. You should have had just two simple questions, do you want her in or out?

Just 4 votes, even if they would all be a 'yes', with an active membership of around 20, that's not enough. Which means things will stay as they are. I would give the poll a week, until Friday maybe. Because not everyone is online everyday. But if Figgles doesn't want to agree to the forum rules, as you seem to be indicating, then we don't have to vote anymore. Because that's not going to happen. This is not a fair pole and you know it. You've loaded the questions to be biased against her. You should have had just two simple questions, do you want her in or out? There are 3 clearly distinguishable options for voting: "Yes", "Doesn't matter" and "No". And I don't know who else has voted "Yes" so far, either Big Pharma or the Zeniac I guess, but so far you are the only one who really really wants to have her back (probably as tag team mate). And I find that lack of enthusiasm among the greater membership interesting and quite telling. If other members would be as excited as you are about her possible return, we would have at least 10 votes already, and all a "Yes", wouldn't you agree? We should have at least a dozen votes, ideally more. Go talk to Figgles and see if she is willing to agree to the rules here, especially the no crusades rule. If not, then we can lock this poll right now. If yes, then we wait until Friday. Okay? |

I don't really know what agreeing to crusader rules mean do you? it's very much in the eye of the beholder what constitutes crusading. So I would say wait until the end of the week and then just go by a simple majority vote. If crusading becomes an issue once she's in then deal with it as and when it comes up. |

I don't really know what agreeing to crusader rules mean do you? it's very much in the eye of the beholder what constitutes crusading. So I would say wait until the end of the week and then just go by a simple majority vote. If crusading becomes an issue once she's in then deal with it as and when it comes up. She knows. It's the reason she got banned multiple times. |

This was also Elon Musk's idea when he made his bid to buy Twitter. He was against permanent bans on Twitter and said they should have an expiry date. Yeah. I now think temp bans are a lot better than permanent bans. For permanent bans the threshold is rather high and as a mod you'll put up with a lot more for a lot longer than you usually would, because a permanent ban is a really a big thing which shouldn't be issued willy-nilly. With a temp ban, you can nip it in the bud rather effectively. A couple of days or a week vacation, isn't such a big deal. So the threshold can be a lot lower. And when someone has been sent on vacation multiple times, there's a learning curve to be expected somewhere. |

I've voted, Figgles who.
I'm not 'afraid' of her. I find a lot of her obsessions unhinged and they are too deeply embedded to ever untangle. I get Reefs desire for inclusivity and reformation, though it is expecting a lot of everyone to undo what The Frog very carefully and lovingly threaded through her being.
