Niz smoked, but through his raspy voice he uttered some of the most profoundly insightful spiritual poetry of the past millennia. There are two applicable Christian aphorisms: "by their fruits you shall know them" and "render unto Caesar". The existential truth is beyond any imagining, any conception, and the conditioned mind/body in the instant after realizing it is exactly the same as in the instant prior. This idea that enlightened people are materially perfected is a fairytale for existential children. It's to keep the truth ever out of reach, as if it's something that is a reward for hard work or good behavior, or that realizing it is somehow some sort of material gain. It ain't. Insightful to what end? As farmer pointed out, nothing had worked. The world is still a mess.
I know, insightful to you guys is fancy words, like pretty flowers, all in a row. Insightful to me is actionable intelligence that works. Fruits, to me, are what you can sink your goddam teeth into. Otherwise, just wear a man bun atop your head, wear a kurta, sit around with like-minded free-spirits, beat on your drum and chant the verses of the US Constitution..."we the people, blah, blah, blah...ending each verse with a ha ha ha.
When you see the world through the eyes of an existential child you make a mess with the toys of your mind, leaving them strewn all around the room so carelessly. For as long as you think of yourself as a machine, like this, you'll keep making that mess. Over and over again. Ad infinitum.

I don't recall pointing that out, I don't think I even insinuated it. Care to explain? ok, fine "which might be true in one sense," He keeps straw manning. And his scarecrows are distorted beyond recognition. As if they were put up by Picasso. This is mostly self-therapy by trolling.

me too. there's that old quote about 'being the master of your mind and not its slave' do you agree with that, and how would you be able to tell which option is in control? No, I don't. Your perception is out of focus and you are seeing double, my friend. The body is not you but the mind is. The mind goes by other names i.e. consciousness, awareness. It's all quite confusing much like figuring out the cutlery, which to use, in a fine French restaurant. We Americans are brutes.

Do you know that 'losing' is your ticket out of this mess? Ie. when you stop thinking about something.. it ceases to be Exactly. Hey Laffy, try stop thinking when the wife shouts at you. It's called turning the other cheek. When you do that, it's going to enrage her. You won't get out of the mess.

It's to keep the truth ever out of reach, as if it's something that is a reward for hard work or good behavior, or that realizing it is somehow some sort of material gain. It ain't. Are you making an excuse for being a loser? I can't find a loser in nature. Everything is perfect. It's people. Even when they are young and fit, they are crazy. There was a bunch of thirty something next door beating on drums and chanting. Yoga losers in Indian clothing having a garden party. It was unseemly. Woodstock nonsense, and so soon after their mother's death.
Why would a white American male dress up like a Sikh? Man bun atop his head, wearing a kurta. I know it is Sunday and he probably works from home. Is it spirituality or escapism?
Loser? Me? ha! ha! Yes. Though I make no excuses for it. First, look at the thread title. Have you done that? Really, do it now before you keep reading, ok? Human life comes in an unimaginably myriad detailed forms. There are fat people, thin people, fit people, sick people, rich people, poor people. Some are happy and satisfied with very little others are voracious black holes of appetite. But no matter how much one as accomplished, achieved, perfected, accumulated or been accoladed, they all come to the same end. It's all on loan, all temporary, all ephemeral. I'm not saying that none of it matters, because in the moment, it all matters. Just not in a way that can be understood by the mind of an existential child. Die before you die, and see the world as an existential adult. Put down the baggage of your psuedo-concern for the "world". It's the result of an illusion.

Me and my buddy Dennis made parodies on those ancient cassette tapes back in the day ... priceless. Those salesmen. Trying so hard. Their lies were so obvious they were deeply comical.

No, the mind is not You, either. Ideas like this can either be useful pointers, or subtle mind-tricks at the core of self-deception. Who or what is it that would make it a puzzle?

This is good, I'm not sure how to respond to it just yet, but we're getting closer to something here

Your mindset of the world is one that runs on the belief that the human body is the person; and yet, you factor in the possibility that the person can die before the body dies. Can you sort this out? Also, what do you mean by "die before you die"? PLease bear in mind that you are using the English language and words have specific meanings.

Hey man, Sue is probably pretty cool, anyone who could put up with Bill for such an extended period of time must be blessed with infinite patience and unreserved love.. I, however, have gotten my wife to calm down simply by being calm myself

I am not the body alone, the 'me' who I thought I was was actually just an elaborate fiction that doesn't really exist.. and who I truly am is incomprehensible, but loving

Actually, even the body is an elaborate fiction created by the mind. Do you realize that the body cannot be perceived all at once? In other words, it is not all there at the same time. There is this saying "I will believe it if I see it". You can't see the back of your head, right? Do you see how powerful the mind is? It completes the hologram. One way to get rid of your fat body without dieting is to not look at it.
