You imply that I have not stayed within the rule. Can you cite an instance of my violation. Which post was it?

Who makes the call that a rule has been violated? Do the members here make the call collectively and have a right to pass judgment on the conduct of their peer, namely me, being indicted?

But there's plenty more, you have a general habit of commenting on current political events and posting purely political posts.  I've already asked you to stop doing that. I even deleted some of those posts already. But nothing has changed. 

Now, you are not going to get into trouble for just one single post, or even a couple of posts. You get into trouble when it becomes a trend, a habit. And when this has been pointed out to you and you still continue nevertheless, then you have a decision to make if you want to fit in here or not. If you can't make that decision, then I will make that decision for you. I am not into playing silly games when it comes to moderation. 

We are a team of 3 moderators - ZD, Peter, Reefs. ZD officially retired as mod years ago but still has mod privileges and Peter doesn't really get involved here anymore, but he is still reading along, it seems. So I am basically the only active moderator here. When I took over as a mod, I made a proposal to the mod team about my forum vision and my preferred style of moderating this forum. The other mods and the admin approved and now the forum is run the way it is run, and quite successfully, I'd say, if you know how that forum looked like before I took over. 

Members have no say in the day-to-day moderation process and I generally also don't consult ZD or Peter. Only when I think there need to be major changes made either regarding forum rules or when banning legacy members is on the table, then I may ask them for their advice. Usually they will give their take on it but leave the final decision to me. That doesn't mean though that the opinions of members don't matter. I am certainly aware of the temperature here and will and do adjust at times. When I plan major changes that will affect all members, I may actually ask for your opinions, as has happened recently re: Figgles' amnesty. I actually brought up this topic of amnesty with ZD and Peter a couple of years ago, they advised me against it but left the final decision up to me. At that time, I followed their advice. When I brought it up before the forum this time, opinions were split, but comments overwhelmingly negative. And I also followed those suggestions.

When I ban someone, it never happens out of the blue, there will always be plenty of warnings. And if I give peeps an ultimatum, then this means previous warnings fell on deaf ears and I have little hope that things will improve, but I decided to give it one more try.  

So now you know where you are in this process. Generally, I think your interest aligns with the forum purpose. But you need to tone it down a notch and you also need to stay focused. The goal here is not quantity of discussion but quality of discussion. That's what makes this forum so different from other spiritual forums out there. And I want to keep it that way. 

You see, everybody else here understands this intuitively already. Most here don't even need any of these rules. These rules only came into being because of people who didn't really fit in here but just couldn't let go for whatever reason. And if this should be really difficult for you to understand or follow, or if it is some kind of struggle for you to stay within the rules, then you just don't fit in here, let's face it. No biggie, really. From my perspective, it's much better to attract the people that naturally fit in here than training the people that don't (or don't want to) fit in here to behave in ways that make them fit in here. 

So if you should decide that you want to stay here, you know what to do. The ball is in your court now. There will be no further discussion, warnings or announcements.

I appreciate your response. It is honest and the decent thing to do. Also, it is reasonable.

This forum is a good place to gather and I have enjoyed myself at your expense, unfortunately. I owe you guys an explanation for my perceived lack of tact in conversation. It did hurt me to hurt every one of you just to prove, to myself, that the boatman is alive in each of us. 

Of course, I want to stay, under your conditions. Thank you for your hospitality.

In all fairness, I was just pointing out no politics is not such a big deal. I don't even remember that Reefs said no Futbol, specifically to me...4 years ago...exactly. This is actually the anniversary. Death, the appropriate thread.
