The Concert for Bangladesh may be the best film from a live concert ever. I saw it twice in the theater, the very old Carolina Theater downtown Charlotte, NC, it had a balcony where I always sat. I went the second time just to hear Leon Russell, again. This kid is amazing doing a Leon Russell cover. Behold! Intelligence doing its thang!!

The other day when I was looking for a Leon Russell video to post, I chanced on this ten minute video about his life, it's pretty cool. I'd never read or heard that he had a physical deformity, nor that he studied classical music for ten years. He said when he was young his right arm was much weaker than his left arm, so he had to develop his own distinctive style of playing the piano. He said this left and right difference gave him a different view of the world, and that if he hadn't had it, if he was 'normal', he would have probably ended up a used car salesman. I thought of posting it, decided not to. I'll post it on the video thread, TED Talks.
Watched your new-today video. I'd seen Cody before, yea, amazing. Leon wrote some cool songs, the one Cody did maybe the most famous and most recorded by others. Here's another.

I will also check it out when I gets the time. The poetry in the Cody song, sung to another, had that existential Love of the Beloved ish to it. Laffy's sense of the deeper meaning of faith comes to mind through the words and intensity. The fact remains, though, that I'd absolutely shit myself playing in front of a crowd that size, even if I had that kind of talent! He goes out and performs something flawless. Far out.

This guy blows my mind.
The character is too complex and intricate to be 'a performance'. For those of us who like attention to detail, this is absolutely riveting.
I didn't know which song to post. His AGT was extraordinary - so check that out, but I'll be tasteful and post performance with Postmodern Jukebox.
Then, should I post Chandelier or Royals... or both?
Just love this guy!

It's heavy, and it's very good.

Nice! Made it to the KNDR song list. Doing some poking around on the album cover's Greek...purddy cool story. The singer/composer is an interesting guy who has put out some cool stuff.

As soon as the sax hit I was taken. I'm wondering if it's a sax. It has an oboe timbre to it. Clarinet maybe?
