It is the springtime of my loving The second season I am to know You are the sunlight in my growing So little warmth I've felt before It isn't hard to feel me glowing I watched the fire that grew so low, oh It is the summer of my smiles Flee from me, keepers of the gloom Speak to me only with your eyes It is to you, I give this tune Ain't so hard to recognize, oh These things are clear to all from time to time, ooh Oh, oh Oh Talk, talk, talk, talk Hey, I felt the coldness of my winter I never thought it would ever go I cursed the gloom that set upon us, 'pon us, 'pon us But I know that I love you so Oh, but I know That I love you so These are the seasons of emotion And like the wind, they rise and fall This is the wonder of devotion I see the torch We all must hold This is the mystery of the quotient, quotient Upon us all, upon us all, a little rain must fall Just a little rain, oh, yeah Oh, ooh, yeah-yeah-yeah

Reminds me of Shonen Knife, who had great shows! I partied with them in Kyoto and Osaka back in the day. Good times with easy going mosh pits. My girlfriend then was also in a band, but they were nowhere near as punk, but it was fun to hang with the university crowds. Silly times.

Call me sentimental, but I feel that romantic love can be one of the clearest of the myriad experiential hints and shadows of the existential truth. In such matters, it takes poetry to express clarity. Here's one of my favorites. Making Movies was a go-to album for me when I was younger. My brother always got pissed when his albums went missing, but he always knew where to find them! I got to see them in concert a couple times; great shows. Knopfler is a pioneer and went on to do some really cool stuff afterwards. Wonder if Satch likes him as a fellow Scottish Pict. Yeah, some of those ballads can really give a sense of Rumiesque poetry and sayings sometimes. His guitar style is so unique, but these old official videos of the songs are classic in themselves!

For about a year, 1970, I watched this about every Saturday night, late night. The Now Explosion. Ten years before MTV. Most of the videos are lost to time, this is only a partial of my favorite one.
The full song, but somehow not as good.

In 1974-75 I had this cassette tape in my car, almost wore it out. Actually had two, I don't recall if this is from Teaser and the Firecat or Tea for the Tillerman.

My first favorite band (until I found The Moody Blues). My first concert. CCR One of the first songs I ever learned to play on guitar. 😍 That must have been a great concert. I have another friend who's first concert was Jimi Hendrix, and I think it was in Utah back in the 60s/70s before he was really known (just after leaving Little Richards band). He had never heard of Jimi, but was prompted to go with another friend. He said he left in shock.

Fun song to play with in regard to looking at what is in the world, but not necessarily of it, and a certain homecoming. Perfectly so....
Hello there, my old friend Not so long ago it was til the end We played outside in the pouring rain On our way up the road we started over again
You're living our dream oh you on top My mind is aching, ' Lord it won't stop That's how it happens living life by the drop
Up and down the road in our worn down shoes Talking about good things and singing the blues You went your way and I stayed behind We both knew it was just a matter of time
You're living our dream oh you on top My mind is aching, ' Lord it won't stop That's how it happens living life by the drop
No wasted time, we're alive today Churning up the past, there's no easier way Time's been between us, a means to an end God it's good to be here walking together my friend
We're living our dreams
My mind's stopped aching, '
That's how it happened living life by the drop That's how it happened living life by the drop That's how it happened living life by the drop
