What you say about alignment is certainly worth considering - again, from personal experience. I completely agree that the mindset that suffering is noble in this context is misguided. In terms of what comes and goes and changes and appears, and specifically with respect to the individual, there is this dichotomy: the conditioning of the body/mind, and the conditions that the body/mind is in at any given point in time. Some people's fine messes are finer than others (the conditions), and the progression of conditioning and conditions is at least partially a time-bound process of change. Evaluating the quality of the conditioning is thereby also a relative matter of degree, and potentially quite multi-faceted. Evaluating the quality of any given message by the quality of the conditioning of the messenger is like judging the quality of a steak by the quality of the packaging - there certainly can be a correlation, and vacuum packed is going to last longer, but you can vacuum pack a rotten steak as easily as a fresh one. And even the distinction between TR and SR is still a conceptual point. In the abstract, there's no denying the gateless gate, but abstractions are ever and always treacherous on this terrain. You also have to include the receiver. Even if the messenger is perfect and the message broadcasted flawlessly, if the listener is not perfectly tuned into your station, he may just get static noise on his end...

Iconic Aussie anthem remade by legendary aussie band The Waifs feat. the original artist John Schumann.
"I Was Only 19", originally released by Redgum in 1983, is a about the Vietnam war. It doesn't discuss the war's merit or lack thereof. It just recounts the experience of fighting over there, and the affect it had on a soldier aged 19.
The song is deeply embedded in Australian culture and most certainly worth a listen.

Metal head. Not a rapper, but I heard this Brit rap on the radio and it passed the bar for my playlist.

It is the springtime of my loving The second season I am to know You are the sunlight in my growing So little warmth I've felt before It isn't hard to feel me glowing I watched the fire that grew so low, oh It is the summer of my smiles Flee from me, keepers of the gloom Speak to me only with your eyes It is to you, I give this tune Ain't so hard to recognize, oh These things are clear to all from time to time, ooh Oh, oh Oh Talk, talk, talk, talk Hey, I felt the coldness of my winter I never thought it would ever go I cursed the gloom that set upon us, 'pon us, 'pon us But I know that I love you so Oh, but I know That I love you so These are the seasons of emotion And like the wind, they rise and fall This is the wonder of devotion I see the torch We all must hold This is the mystery of the quotient, quotient Upon us all, upon us all, a little rain must fall Just a little rain, oh, yeah Oh, ooh, yeah-yeah-yeah

Reminds me of Shonen Knife, who had great shows! I partied with them in Kyoto and Osaka back in the day. Good times with easy going mosh pits. My girlfriend then was also in a band, but they were nowhere near as punk, but it was fun to hang with the university crowds. Silly times.

Call me sentimental, but I feel that romantic love can be one of the clearest of the myriad experiential hints and shadows of the existential truth. In such matters, it takes poetry to express clarity. Here's one of my favorites. Making Movies was a go-to album for me when I was younger. My brother always got pissed when his albums went missing, but he always knew where to find them! I got to see them in concert a couple times; great shows. Knopfler is a pioneer and went on to do some really cool stuff afterwards. Wonder if Satch likes him as a fellow Scottish Pict. Yeah, some of those ballads can really give a sense of Rumiesque poetry and sayings sometimes. His guitar style is so unique, but these old official videos of the songs are classic in themselves!

For about a year, 1970, I watched this about every Saturday night, late night. The Now Explosion. Ten years before MTV. Most of the videos are lost to time, this is only a partial of my favorite one.
The full song, but somehow not as good.

In 1974-75 I had this cassette tape in my car, almost wore it out. Actually had two, I don't recall if this is from Teaser and the Firecat or Tea for the Tillerman.
