As already stated, you (plural, IOW, virtually everybody) regularly do not experience the (non)absence of this, every day. And, what is missed is never missing. And, if I told you, you would not believe me. As all of this has already been stated, no new clues here. As trying to solve a riddle hasn't helped, and I have said it isn't a riddle anyway, not a joke, I'm quite serious. Consider it a koan. I'm sorry if that seems unfair to those not versed in koans. For those, a western pitch, Descartes was wrong. sdp Nah, Descartes just used idiom that is currently unfashionable. By "thought" he included perception and as far as causality ("Therefore") was concerned he included a back story to a creator to keep himself off the rack.

The views are still increasing at a pretty good rate, so there is still interest. I'm going to be gone for a few hours, maybe you can pool your resources or something (but don't ask zd for the answer ). I'm going to give one last hint. I thought of it last night but forgot until a few minutes ago. I'm glad I forgot it, saved the best until last. In the film The Matrix, what did Morpheus and the others have to do to get Neo out of the Matrix? sdp Divide views by replies to get a better feel for interest level.

I didn't mean to indicate you would find the answer there, I said it was a hint as to why the Headless Way didn't appeal to me, as I'm not in the habit of loosing my head (at least not for very long periods of time ). later.......... sdp I know what you said. I meant that I found it helpful...useful...and amusing. OK, sure, I understand. sdp

That's a good question. In the OP I said there one sense to use you, as self, but, there is also ~ you~, as attending, in some sense.I had to be ambiguous so as not to be specific so as not to 'give-it-away'. silver, you are walking all around it. Specifically, put it into words, not conscious of what? sdp hmmmmm.....not conscious of (didn't I say this earlier?) what we really are? or aren't? Why yes, you said that the post before last.

In a study of 200,000 ostriches over a period of 80 years, no one has reported a single case where an ostrich buried its head in the sand (or attempted to do so). I bought into that myth hook, line and ostrich. From Mr Google: "Ostriches do NOT bury their heads in the sand. This tale originates from the fact that the male ostrich will dig a large hole (up to 6 to 8 feet wide and 2-3 feet deep) in the sand for the nest / eggs. Predators cannot see the eggs across the countryside which gives the nest a bit of protection."

of who/what they really are And so they bump their head?? You all but have it. What I was pointing to here was a hint. What does the hint point to? Already given: It always exists in the present moment. Already given: When it is missed, it isn't missing. Already given: There is ( this) something which you regularly do not experience the (non)absence of every day. You (E) earlier correctly translated this as there is ( this) something which you regularly do not experience the presence of every day. I earlier made the point that it is not that you never experience this, but that the shift from experience to non-experience is illusive. And the biggest hint that I was sure would seal the deal: In the film The Matrix, what did Morpheus and the others have to do to remove Neo from the Matrix? (IOW, how do Morpheus and the others move in and out of the Matrix when they choose to? Why are they different than Neo was previous to choosing between the red and blue pill? What did the red pill do? What was the actual purpose of the red pill?) If I am any more clear here it will no longer be a hint. Edit, added hint. I knew zd would get the answer because he frequently refers to this, instead of saying I. sdp

Well, since you are one of the smarter ones here, why don't you cough up the answer so we don't have to play this st.org Jeopardy game any more? Please don't give me any more bad looks, frog.....I've had quite enough of it myself.
