Im sorry, having just said it, I read it back...and it really is an absurd thing to say. I think I understand what is meant by it, but its still absurd. Its the kind of thought that a non-dualized mind would think. How bout, "There is only THIS"?

Im sorry, having just said it, I read it back...and it really is an absurd thing to say. I think I understand what is meant by it, but its still absurd. Its the kind of thought that a non-dualized mind would think. How bout, "There is only THIS"? In my opinion it can be a useful pointer but outside of that its still the kind of thought a non-dualized mind would think. A non-dualized mind constantly reifies and abstracts. It thinks about something or looks for something or focuses on something or even thinks it sees something which cannot appear as an appearance by definition.... Truth, Reality, This, Oneness, the Now, Space..... These concepts have their place as pointers away from the idea of separately existing things, or as pointers away from the idea of some kind of separate Being/God, but they are just abstractions. To be fair, in the widest sense, ALL concepts are abstractions, but some concepts are representations of the multiplicity/appearances that are perceived/experienced and so they have some kind of basis. The kind of concepts above have no basis at all except as useful pointers away from the old thought paradigm. Again, to be fair, its actually probably quite inevitable that a transitional non-dualized phase is gone through. I got totally lost in the concept of 'the Now' a few years back. In the end, I think we basically 'burn through' the abstraction. The fact that Im still talking about it myself suggests that there is still burning through happening here. I think that is what has been happening with the concept of 'oneness' lately, my guess is we are all getting to a point where we would be happy never to hear the word or think about it ever again!

There is the loss of interest in drama, the loss of interest in rabid thinking, the loss of interest in problems and solutions, the loss of interest in the tension of resistance that causes sickness in body and mind. There is astounding beauty in the simplest things in this world. Hell and heaven are both right here in THIS dimension. You said it dude, heaven and hell are both right here in this dimension. Its a dimension of consciously experienced constrast. And even the most enlightened stub their toes and experience discomfort and fill in tax returns! I haven't stubbed my toe in decades (maybe I'm super hyper enlightened?) and so it's hard to see it as part of hell. If I recall, the experience is something like "Ouch!" Filling in tax returns is just filling in returns until mind turns it into hell. Mind can turn anything into hell, even contrast. I'm thinking the chances are very high that you will see whatever you want to see. I don't create problems, I address peeps perception of them. I ask if the giraffe is really there. The 'life enjoys resisting itself' giraffe isn't really there. The 'filling out tax returns is hell' giraffe isn't really there. The 'Enigma creates problems' giraffe isn't really there.

That's just how the mind works. When we feel good, we tend to look more positively upon past events. Yes, but in this case I think the word 'fun' was used to back up the odd idea that life enjoys trying to escape life. Indeed, the idea is odd and is the product of over-thinking and over-reflecting. And yet, some odd things do happen ;D

You are hopelessly idealizing. You are saying that what you experience is total neutrality. That stubbing your toe and filling in a tax return is exactly the same experience as being given a back stroke or writing poetry. In this world, some things are good and some things suck and no matter how much you like to think that having an eye poked out would be fine and dandy, it really wouldnt be. It would hurt a lot, and to dress that up and say that that is not hell is both ridiculous and grandiose. Its exactly the same nonsense as the suggestion that animals don't go through hell at times. You are saying that people's perception of problems is the problem. There you go, you just created a problem. You see people seeing giraffes. There you go, you just created a problem. You misquoted me in exactly the particular way I thought you might do by the way.

If so, I think its a bit sly and backhanded. If not, no matter!

I dont think contrast is a problem at all. Without contrast there would be no experiencing, no life, no multiplicity. What I spoke of is 'consciously experiencing contrast'.

I don't know what the unconscious experience of contrast would be.
