Karen, a comment earlier; I don't think it was from you.
Michael,
If you'd like, I could eliminate I and personal reference from my writing. It might look rather strange, and I would probably revert to some style similar to Emily Bronte. Interested?

Why is everyone so concerned with the label? I don't get it. The message is cast aside and the label is poked and prodded. Oh no, it doesn't fit! Who cares? It is simply a label--one that I have dropped because I know it to not apply. But the message of it? I know that that DOES apply. So why the hell is everyone are so many focusing on that word so intently? this is a good question, IMO. I'd say that it's become the focus because some RT spokesnonpersons lead with it. It's the hook to draw folks into to looking at there is no you. So there's the lead. And then there's the behavior. It seems like the RT spokesnonpersons that claim to be Liberated or Enlightened behave via text on these boards just plain egoically like the rest of us. Stepvhen says this is because, being Liberated, he can just put on the egoic clothes and communicate that way because that's how one has to do it. Anyway, it doesn't smell right. So folks begin to wonder. "I'm Enlightened" or "I'm Liberated" just smacks of snakeoil, so I think it's natural and good to be skeptical. I'd add "Awakened" to that too -- hi Michaelsees! And it also calls into question the real message they are bringing -- there is no you. One begins to wonder if honesty is no longer part of the picture, for example.

I think the essential problem can be read in the objectification of the "lie" that has to be killed. It’s like the demon or he beast the fundamental born again evangelists rave about, there are tournaments and incursions into other forums etc., nice metaphors but where does it stop being a game of dungeons and dragons. Often there is reference to being hungry for blood, this along with the singular obsession with that one phrase ‘no you’, mantra is that which blocks everything else. Ciaran really sees himself as the saviour, the man with the sword of truth, he alone has the attributes and the hall of fame kill list to prove it. Why do you have to prove anything?

Wow! I have to give it to these guys, they are quite well under the influence of their charismatic leader and Savior of mankind, right down to the repetition of "nuts", "bullnuts", and "that's cute" comments. I never knew liberation could be so...well...so self-centered. It's like they shot right through the ego delusion and landed on a solid foundation of...well, ego. Fascinating is accurate ZenDancer.
I don't usually like to interfere with people on a nice ego jag (especially such a self-righteous one) but I come here from time to time and am disappointed to see that indeed it is true that this thread is proof of what they say about the squeaky wheel. Spiritual work most certainly can be rewarding, but to quote the Buddha, for one who is in delusion even spiritual work is dangerous.
By the way, I haven't "liberated" anyone (if indeed berating someone into saying they have no self via internet is the true liberation). So I guess I'm not a man really...just some schnook that has some questions about the curious nature of existance. In addition I couldn't give a hoot in hell about saving anyone or liberating them so I'm probably an especially bad slug in a swamp.
But...I probably will check out this Ruthless Truth thing all the same. It's similar to Richard Roses' rapport/confrontation style and I can see it as being quite useful as long as you don't claim liberation halfway up the mountain, or turn into one of these RT evangelists. It's just a shame that some of the personalities on there (based on this thread) require a certain amount of BS repelant to listen to. I'll give it to the guy, he's got a great gripe with the "enlightened" crowd's hands off approach, which has been one of my gripes also, however I know the ego all to well, and it doesn't react too well when someone challenges it's sincerity or determination to be right. To be enlightened above even the most seasoned sages. And of course, there's more than a bit of that going on here. I will indeed check out RT, but I have a bad feeling I'll wind up moving on fairly quickly.

Curious, curious. Not a soul-sucker. Nor under Ciaran's influence. Lots of polarity here

That's good dreamerrach. Some people fall for charismatic self-important folks on an ill-concieved mission to "liberate" others. Glad you don't go for it. CONTENT...it's all about content. Not personalities. I've seen enough rough and tumble cowboy-gurus parading as counterculture masters. Some are genuine, but others just use it as a counterpoint to the groovy-hippie gurus of the new age scene. I'm glad they are around, I hope they get a wider audience interested, but when they come on here acting like asses they are fair game to get verbally flogged for their own good. This is a good board, ST is a good site, and people rolling over from other sites with no intention but to cause trouble and act beligerant and spam the site should be dealt with extreme polarity...errr prejudice. : )

People could fall into a hole or something I keep hoping I'll do just that. Have a little 'accident' or get confused enough and stumble into a hole. lol
