Illusion and enlightenment? Two sides of a coin. Universals and particulars? No difference. All day I read the wordless sutra; All night not a thought of Zen practice ...

I never had a favorite question, but the one that ended the search for truth went like this: Absolute samadhi is what can be conceived as "a unity-consciousness" state of mind because there is no self or other in that state. Similarly, cosmic consciousness and "flow" (relative Samadhi) are similar states of mind in which selfhood is absent. These states come and go, so how is it possible for a person to remain in a unity-consciousness state of mind all of the time (permanently)? Sounds like extreme lack of self-esteem. At least you were sure that you exist at all.

Why does pizza taste so good? The peperoni's opened up into a wormhole and Jesus spoke to me.

What is/was your favorite existential question? I'll start with one: 14 years old or there abouts: "God, if you exist you better make yourself known, coz I aint gonna wait much longer". The bastard ignored me! Haha!

I never was really chewing on existential questions. When I think about it, I guess the question I had pondered the most was probably the volition questions because I had to write a term paper about volition once a long long time ago. When I think back now, I'd say I had no f****** clue what I was writing about at the time. And I don't think my professors had a clue either. Haha!
However, there was always a subtle sense that there was something slightly off. But I never really had those nagging questions.

That was/is your existential question? Yeah it was a time of massive doubting. Adolescence.

Sounds like extreme lack of self-esteem. At least you were sure that you exist at all. The 'should I exist' question is the other end of the "Things are as they should be" duality stick that he's been swinging around.

Strong self esteem is as problematic as weak self esteem. As with all of this, the goal is actually to put the duality sticks down and walk away. High or low self esteem must follow on the heels of an illusion, and therefore is also illusion. It does not matter if you are prepared or not to deal with the bite of a rope.

You've never heard me say things are as they should be, all is perfect, etc. I understand that some peeps have a realization that the universe and everything in it is perfect. But as long as the Holocaust remains in the conscience of humans, I'll never share the "all is as it should be" perspective.
