Before you were talking about greed and now you're talking about murder... Finding hypotheticals to argue against is a game that goes on for ever (a dead-end perhaps? ). The question that comes to mind for me is why are you doing that? The world is never, EVER, *!*EV-VAAAAAHHH*!*, going to line up perfectly with your version of how it should be (people not being greedy, bad things not happening to good people). So what then are you going to do? I suspect an entirely selfish reason behind his reasoning. baiting? When one is playing about in their mind with hyperthetical-situations, one can be 'concious of intent' or simply wasting time as they're bored with their current incarnation. Sometimes a red hot poker broght close to the arse is a good motivator... to get out there an' serve in the world. What we find in serving others is that life provides through us skills we never thought we had this life.

Is greed perfectly unacceptable? the only real question here is whether you are greedy or not. I'd say you have a (personal) problem with greed. But that's not different from anyone else, we all have our little issues that come in the package with/as ego/personality/false self/cultural self. IOW, you are not special in any way, we're all in the same boat...........or once were....... Just move on with the plan.........you're stuck........ Welcome to life. sdp enjoyed your post sdp. I've cut-it to something more bite size. We seem to bring the root of greed along with us as we keep the old-programmes formost in our minds and inject them rightiously, into our children. Same Boat? Probably all cultures (boats) (including Noah) suffer this identification-problem the ego has, placing itself as more deserving than the other egos. What helps in re-programming the subconcious is a sincere desire to investigate our-own make-up, from the first time we opened our eyes, when we began generating our individual-minds, where we began to follow-suit with what's happening in the world about us. Separate(d)-identities seem to be at the heart of Greed. What we have taken in from outside lays on our TRUE NATURE. When we opened our eyes the first time, IT was as 'it' always is....togetherness. Our parents caring permitted us to become cultured in what ever Land we have arrived in but in that culture we have taken in some weird habits. Loosing ones mental-conditioning through some kind of freak accident or through Grief can be a valuable event to have happen, but ego never seeks to undermine its self on its own accord. A genuine spiritual-seeker has to review their subconcious mind sooner or later. If you are fortunate to catch a dose of 'the dark night of the soul' depression reveals clerely that which seekers work-on during meditation to deepen their BEING centre.

I suspect an entirely selfish reason behind his reasoning. You are correct. I'm being very selfish because unless we end global guilt we might not discover physical immortality. Physical immortality is much more appealing to those who don't fully gnosis Samadhi.

The paradox of me is Wholeness thinking that it isn’t Wholeness…

Physical immortality is much more appealing to those who don't fully gnosis Samadhi. Yeah, but it gives one more time to obtain fully gnosis-ing Samadhi. One can then check-out of physical reality if they choose to. The amount of 'time' that it takes to gnosis Samadhi is a choice, more time is not needed, a choice is needed, right now. As an aside, your soul, i.e. Your 'I Am', keeps this body and identity as long as it needs to before shedding it and making a new identity/body/mind. get to gnosis of what you are, and these concerns over physical immortality will likely abate, and you won't lose anything in the abatement.

Then it appears time is needed for the choice to be made. If everyone made the choice today, what would come of the world? Choices can never happen in the future, they are only made in the right now....so it doesn't matter if you have a million years. If you are a procrastinator, then you are a procrastinator. An eternity is not enough for a procrastinator to 'get stuff done', because a procrastinator is always living in an imagined future that will NEVER arrive in the now. Also, you cannot stop being a procrastinator in the future, even if you have 100,000,000 years, you can only stop being a procrastinator in this moment.

From my experience, problems will exist in the world as long as you're looking for something to fix. Situations may still arise that require your involvement, and what looks like helping may be a part of that, but its just doing what needs to be done. Last year some time I spent half an hour trying to help some guy who's car had broken down and I ended up towing him to the next town. I wasn't doing that to help, I did it because that was what was right in front of me that needed to be done right then. Two years ago I was very sick with a chronic illness. I went through untold ick during that time and some drastic changes happened; but again I just did what I needed to do with no hope of getting better. I know this can sound paradoxical - the world is perfect as it is, but you still do things to fix the so-called problems of the world - but that seems to be the way things are. If you want to set yourself up in opposition to the way things are, then perhaps you need to get yourself a comfy chair and something to drink, because you're in for an awfully long show.

Yes, nicely said. Fixing or not fixing so-called problems happens, but that is just what's happening... There isn't a you or a me or a God doing anything, it is This, Beingness, that's all there is... And the reason why the mind can't get This is because it is too simple, it is that which IS beyond knowing.

When someone else does it then they belong in jail forever, of course things like justifiable self-defense and vengeance excluded. But for example if my brother kills someone then usually I will defend him no matter what. I will stop defending him when his crime is so evil that I don't consider him to be my brother anymore and instead he is just another person. Do you believe we are all connected? No.

It's tangential, but I like it. Greed is too big an umbrella to have a conversation about in an in-depth fashion. You need to narrow it down a bit. Greed = Fear of Death? dont think so... Greed is more like Ignorance of Self.
