How is spirituality (I use the term generically) lived in your life? There was a time when there seemed to be a separation between 'my little life' and spirituality. As in, "Isn't there something more?" So spirituality became something I did (practiced, read about, basically played out the yearning) when I didn't have to work or do laundry or whatever. What I've discovered is that this little life is the 'something more'. Every millisecond of existence is imbued with it. Nicely put.

How is spirituality (I use the term generically) lived in your life? The most truthful answer is along the lines of what freejoy said, "I don't know". In another way I could say that spirituality could simply refer to a restructuring of how I see things. I can't pick out certain things I'm doing during the day and say there's some spirituality. It's more like the term refers to an ongoing deepening and intensity to the same ordinary life that's always been there. As if all I ever needed to do was to be receptive and welcoming to that depth and intensity.

I don't know what spirituality means - that's why I used the word as a generic term. But I feel when energy is moving through me and when it's feeling stuck. And I allow that feeling to guide me. I can only ever really give examples of what flows with me and what doesn't. I describe it with words like it's 'useful' or not 'useful'... it 'works for me' or not etc. In this way, it has an influence over every part of my life....and is a constant work in progress. But it's good to talk about, it helps me appreciate life.

Greetings.. The most truthful answer is along the lines of what freejoy said, "I don't know". In another way I could say that spirituality could simply refer to a restructuring of how I see things. I can't pick out certain things I'm doing during the day and say there's some spirituality. But it's good to talk about, it helps me appreciate life. That's the result of 'my understanding' of spirituality, too, "it helps me appreciate Life".. and, the more mental baggage i let go of, the more i appreciate the Life i am experiencing.. sure, there are those that appreciate Life by endlessly debating or describing what they 'think' or 'imagine' to be the best description of 'what' people should 'think' or 'imagine' to have the same appreciation they do, but.. it is often inconceivable to those that 'think and imagine' their's is the best description, that others can have the same appreciation without thinking or imagining any description at all.. In the still-minded awareness there is no right/wrong, or ideological debates.. Life happens, and our relationship with it works well and in harmony with it, or it works poorly and in disharmony, and.. there's no thinking or debating needed to realize when our relationship with Life is working well or not, and actually.. the thinking and debating are obstacles that distort the experiencer's ability to realize the state of their relationship with Life.. simplify, let go.. it works.. Be well..

Possible distinctions concerning various activities under discussion?
Formal meditation: setting aside a specific period of time each day to purposefully shift attention away from thoughts to silence or what can be seen, heard, felt, etc.
Informal meditation: purposefully shifting attention away from thoughts any time it is remembered to do so, and for no specific length of time.
Life without a sense of individual doership: Sometimes the body/mind thinks, and sometimes it silently interacts with the world without the sense that there is "someone" doing anything or making anything happen.
Contemplation: Silently bearing in mind anything that the body/mind wants to know.

Contemplation: Silently bearing in mind anything that the body/mind wants to know. I do all those. Also, Listening: I'm thinking to the communication of other people in particular as opposed to just attending to sounds. Expressing: I'm thinking nonverbal. Poetry in motion, like dance or athletics.

Mostly, I just sit, not knowing.
My daily routine changes, but lately generally goes like this:
I wake up around 6:30 but lay in bed until about 8:00 am being alert while the mind and body sleeps...its my morning Samadhi session.
At around 8 I get up, have a cup of coffee and do some writing, check business emails, while alternating between various meditation practices that can be done while doing these activities. Several times an hour throughout the day I stop everything and enter a state of relative Samadhi.
At around 10:30 I take the dog for about an hour walk, alternate between contemplation and Samadhi.
At 11:30 I prepare some food and eat consciously in while doing meditation practices that fit with these activities.
At 12:00 I put on a suite and tie and drive to an area where I am going to introduce myself to new clients. When I get the area I park, and open into not knowing and Samadhi till about 1:00 pm or so....after Samadhi I close my eyes, and draw energy inward through the 3rd eye while visualizing a certain amount of income. Immediately after this I visualize providing my clients with a work product and interaction that helps them evolve spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and financially, the latter bit I do with energy flowing outward, poured into a benefit for my clients....i.e. I pull money in energetically, and pour value out energetically.
After this I go into my new clients business and conduct a meeting while staying in a state of conscious Meta-Awareness, and pouring an energy of love, empathy, and familiarity out toward my clients. I see my clients as fellow aspects of God.
At around 4:30 I usually park my car someplace and enjoy nature for a few hours while remaining in state of not knowing and samadhi, I usually do this until my wife calls me and tells me to come home between 6:30 and 8:30.
When I get home I interact with my wife as though she is a beautiful aspect of God that I have never seen before, completely new and full of wonder for me.
We usually sit and talk for several hours and I give her my full and absolute attention...and usually cook her dinner and do some chores around the house, all in a highly attentive meditative state.
After she goes to sleep, I typically walk the dog for about an hour while visualizing all our needs filled in a harmonious way, and alternating into a state of Samadhi.
At around 10:30 I come in, and do some more writing.
Between 12:00 am and 3:00 am I go to bed and practice a method of staying alert while the body/mind goes to sleep.
On days where I don't go see clients its largely the same, except that I will usually sit in a state of not knowing Samadhi for most of the afternoon, inter-pursed with some writing and contemplation.
Mostly, my day is one long meditation with periods of Samadhi in every hour.

very interesting, thanks Steve. ;-) mmm, yes Earnest. That I found too, especially the bit, "After she goes to sleep, I typically walk the dog." This bit had such a huge~effect on my mind my mind boggled with so many scenarios that I almost had to go away and write 'em all down in my 'Re-collections of other peoples stories'... a file for creative writing. Some folk are so highly-charged they truelly inspire. Now about this pooch. If He(Master) goes to sleep before She(Mistress), dose that mean the Pooch has to use the indoors water-closet? If so, was it Master or Mistress that taught the dog to pee, standing-up? I have intuited the idea that a ping-pong ball was used in the coaching of their pooches aim so as not to mess the floor. What other kinds of ideas can you think-up for improoving ones aim, when one is half-asleep and finds themself, Standing at the Throne?

It was actually quite interesting to hear a "day in the life" description. For me, its wake up, stuff happenz, go to sleep What has been interesting is that the quality of attending during formal practice is now there all the time.
