I guess if one loses their suffering they would lose their empthy also. Then one would be able to laugh at other peoples suffering. Not really care. But then you have "who's suffering" if the is no "you" and, no world, and no God, no angels, no demons. But if you look around you do see what enlightened people care about ...MONEY. I would like to see all the enlightened peoples net worth. Look at Depak Chock-ra. His GREED sickens me. He calls himself a healer but does not allow poor people to his healing centers. So we have his number 666 on and on... I'm not so sure about that equation, but I get what your saying. It does seem like enlightened pronouncers talk about how they can't quite remember what it was like 'before' enlightenment. So how could they empathize any longer? But it seems like the function of empathy is eclipsed by non-separation. One person's suffering is not viewed as elsewhere and so there is a natural inclination to address it. I doubt there would be any laughing, in terms of a sadism or just meanness. But maybe laughter is the best medicine in some cases. I get what you're saying on the Money thing too. Note that the ones you hear about in pop media are usually marketing themselves. There are examples that didn't seem to be into Money at all -- Maharshi, e.g. I'm sure there are many under the wire. Zendancer knows a lawn maintenance dude, painting lines on ball fields, that fits the description.

DC.. as in Depak Chopra or District of Columbia, or both? Be well..

What are the benefits to enlightenment? Levitation, time travel, omniscience and the ability to shoot lasers out of your eyes.

What are the benefits to enlightenment? Please post a scanned image of your Stamped and Verified COE before continuing in this discussion. If you don't have one, please don't read anymore replies in this thread. Thank you.

Especially since people will gladly give over their money for literally nothing in return. How many other industries can claim that? I think if there's a genuine interest about enlightenment, one can seriously stop looking at pop media for any relevant clarity.

What are the benefits to enlightenment? Levitation, time travel, omniscience and the ability to shoot lasers out of your eyes. What about X-ray vision, leaping tall buildings in a single bound, and such.
