Are we talking about laughing gas? Good question. Let me check the documents... Nope, it says "enlightenment".

What is your definition of enlightenment? Why do you ask? How can I respond to your question accurately if I don't know what your definition of the term is?

What are the benefits to enlightenment? No more suffering. The rest is just fluff.

What are the benefits to enlightenment? No more suffering. The rest is just fluff. Well, yeah. Lets not make it more complicated or woowoo than it is. Nearly all of man's suffering, and God help us we don't need to define it, is psychological suffering. If this isn't clear, please launch a 5 year mission to explore why you suffer. If you discover it happens somewhere between the ears, then we can continue the exploration of not doing that anymore. For most humans that's way too simple and looks like it couldn't possibly work, and so we have woo woo gurus talking trash to inspire you to pursue something that we can somehow believe actually DOES work, though we have no idea what that is. That's why Top asks what is meant by enlightenment; cuz by definition nobody knows. Keep it simple and incredible, because it is. The goal is this: Stop banging your head against the wall, and it will feel absolutely, ineffably Divine. Is it absurdly hilarious? Of course it is. Is it impossible to simply stop? Of course not.

I guess if one loses their suffering they would lose their empthy also. Then one would be able to laugh at other peoples suffering. Not really care.
But then you have "who's suffering" if the is no "you" and, no world, and no God, no angels, no demons.
But if you look around you do see what enlightened people care about ...MONEY.
I would like to see all the enlightened peoples net worth. Look at Depak Chock-ra. His GREED sickens me. He calls himself a healer but does not allow poor people to his healing centers. So we have his number 666
on and on...
