OK, so not coordinated working then. I guess when you have enough targets, the chances of hitting the same one at the same time becomes quite small. What I'm hearing is: You were attempting to use an enforcement of moderation in order to reduce the distraction - stop the game playing and encourage a shift into the unmoderated area - in order to better allow others to notice what is really going on. Me removing the moderation in general will have the same effect. Is that right? No, I was trying to point out that the 'abuse' originates primarily from the ones complaining of abuse, which I think was the conclusion you came to also. I'm not concerned about where folks post or whether there is moderation. Correct. I was, however, counting on your fairness in judging the posts. enigma- would you be willing to provide your posts leading up to the fray last weekend so we can all count on Peter's fairness in judging these posts? You asked me to provide a few the other night after I retired for the evening. When I did so that morning, you started up that slippery slope again.

Reefs and Enigma: Was there a point, or more than one point to this suite of reported posts you've made here? Yes, I would say there is, and it's always the same point, day after day, week after week, year after year. I've revealed that point dozens of times in response to all manner of interrogation as to motive, and it must be far more incredible sounding to everyone else than it is to me. Once again, the point is, what in blazes is really going on? I suppose the question sounds foolish to many, but to me it's the heart of spirituality. The whole point is to stop playing games, lying to ourselves, see through our own nonsense and wake up and live. It quite literally starts right here and now, not with ineffable spearachule concepts and deep philosophical discussions of linguistic etymology, but with your next thought, your next feeling, your next creation in your own private world of mind. The consensus for years on this forum has been that myself and others of like mind have been the cause of all manner of abuse and if only something could be done about this abuse, all would be well. The creation of an unmoderated section provides an opportunity to clarify, and I like those opportunities. Since folks have a place to go, most of the ambiguity in the moderation is resolved without all the issues of temp and permanent bans and special exceptions and undercover violations to distract. It becomes very simple; stop doing that or go to unmoderated section. If one cannot control their foul language or otherwise posts solely for the purpose of cyber slapping, this speaks clearly to ones emotional state and motivation, and this is what is meant by abusive. Peter, you made a few comments to the effect that Reefs and I were working in concert toward some end, implying there was coordination behind the scenes, and that attacks were directed toward certain individuals. The truth is that I mentioned to Reefs that I had reported several posts, after the fact, and he seemed to like that idea, and that was the end of the discussion. No coordination, no targeting. If he reported different posts than I did, it's because those were the posts he deemed offensive and in need of moderation. I didn't give any thought to who the author of the post was, only whether it violated the rules. One could ask, if the post had belonged to Reefs or Silence, would I have reported it? I honestly don't know. It would have been an interesting test of my integrity since I obviously did have an agenda. The question never arose for me because I know neither of them has a belligerent motivation. I've never seen either of them swear or make posts without a point, or at the very least some pointless humor....and that was the point. As an aside, I do find the unmoderated section to be less overtly abusive in recent days, and for that I'm grateful. The bolded is the part that comes across as a victim story. A vocal minority is not a consensus. Half the board doesn't make a consensus. 75% of the board is not a consensus against you. Half the board defends you because they value the perspective you bring. For whatever reason you are focussing on and exaggerating how many people are against you and that it has gone on for years. You've been banned from several forums, but this is a forum that hasn't banned you.

What I was thinking at the time was that it was a consensus among those who see a problem on the forum, though that's no doubt also technically inaccurate.

What fray? If you mean reporting the posts, that happened over a 2 or 3 day period. A 2 or 3 day period? Yes, I reported posts as I encountered them. Did you think I went on a rampage and searched for posts to report?

Yes, I reported posts as I encountered them. Did you think I went on a rampage and searched for posts to report? So, you sat in your chair vigilantly waiting for reportable posts to appear over the course of 2 or 3 days?

What is it you're getting at? You sitting vigilantly in your chair waiting for reportable posts to appear over the course of 2 or 3 days, Dude, I was just posting as usual. You mean to tell me you've been trying to get reality to match up with this weird picture you've painted? That's what this is all about?

I find that hard to believe.

What?........Do you understand what's involved in reporting a post? Give us your understanding. Click on 'report post' is the upper right of the post, include a reason, then send it and go back to reading posts. It only takes a few seconds. They aren't completely separate endeavors.

They aren't completely separate endeavors. Exactly, they aren't separate endeavors. The quality of your action depends on the quality of your being. You and laughter seem to have a disconnect with regard to this.
