Ian was the same today and was supposed to go to Helen Hayes Rehab but had a slight fever so they kept him. Yesterday he was somewhat alert but not really recognizing anyone. He cried twice, once for a song they had on his iPod and the other time when his sister Celena was talking to him about his track days in school. He looked good for someone who has through hell. Your continued prayers are needed as much as your prior prayers are appreciated.

well, now that Ian is awake it's even harder ... heartbreaking to see this kind, vibrant, strong athlete just lying there helpless ... there are good signs, flickers of recognition and all but it was somehow easier when he was unconscious cause you were able to muster up more hope ... to see the haunted, scared faces of his poor parents and brothers and sisters just hurts the heart ... we continue to pray though and hope for the best ... miracles are not unknown and we may be in the middle of one ... least I hope so ...

it's all very sad ... Ian is awake but showing little signs of recognition and even less of his former self ... don't know much about these things but still hoping he can bounce back somewhat ...

Ian is being transported to Helen Hayes Rehab Center. Depending on the extent of the brain trauma found, he'll be there for the next five to seven months. Continued prayers and well wishes are appreciated. Thanking you all in advance from the bottom of my heart.

Ian is in Helen Hayes Rehab Center and the report they've given is far from promising. From talking to my sister-in-law, it's clear that the dear boy has sustained trauma to every part of his brain. We will only know the degree of his disability as time goes on. He could be looking at severe limitations in his physical, psychological and emotional capacities. We are not giving up on him as preliminary reports have been known to be incorrect in cases like this and nobody can underestimate the power of the human spirit. As always, prayers are appreciated. Thanks all for your love and concern
