Here is the latest on my nephew ...
Ian is responsive to the doctor's touch and voice. They have cut back on the meds to drain the fluid from his brain and he's fighting and strong. The doctor will be waking him up on Sunday and due to the extent of his brain injury, when he's stable, he will be going to Helen Hayes Hospital. Thank you all for your support and prayers.

Just got back from upstate. They performed a tracheotomy on Ian to relieve the soreness of having tubes in his throat. Other than that there's not much to report except that he's holding steady, looks good and his numbers are okay.

As of this afternoon the latest I have on Ian is, he is off the coma meds and they are weaning him off morphine. He responds well to sound commands and touch. They put some type of tube under his armpit, I am not sure why. All other tubes and pumps are off except the breathing one. The doctor still emphasizes that he is not out of the woods and has severe head injuries. Also, they haven't done the tracheotomy as earlier reported.
