Nice but no-one is in charge and no-one works just being funny but truly that is really how it is just another illusion abiet a caring and hopefully useful illusion as illusions go.

as far as most fans of his work go, jed mckenna is apparently a pen name for someone who does not want to be contacted. there are no actual interviews that have been published (except for the one that jed himself put into one of his books - jed mckenna's notebook - which seems to me to be written entirely by the author himself). there is much fun speculation here and there about who jed really is, but all in all, no one seems to have ever found out for sure. |

The Jed Mckenna books are rewritten stories that are in spirit, reflections of real true stories that actually took place. The author was a student of Richard Rose. You have to decode the surface stories to trace it back to the author. The authors fingerprints can be seen all throughout the books if you look hard enough.
An example of a rewritten story is Bret in the third book. Bret's death and funeral coincides with the time of Richard Rose's funeral. Bret was a story about Richard Rose and the author's relationship with him. They use to do spiritual work together.
You will need to do what is called profiling. There is a personality and certain teaching methods that are found in the books that resemble the author.
Here are a few leads;
What spiritual teacher sky dives or has sky dived before?
What spiritual teacher has a spiritual fetish with the book Moby Dick?
What spiritual teacher emphasizes seeing spiritual metaphors in secular books like The Matrix?
What spiritual teacher teaches students to use writing to access the spiritual within themselves similar to Jed's Spiritual Autolysis teaching?
What self proclaimed enlightened person is arrogant similar to Jed?

It is very clear that Jed's teachings have the smell of Rose embedded in them. Why is that? It can't be Mr. Rose playing a game because he had passed away while the author was writing the books. Jed has to be one of his students. With that information do a process of elimination.
One problem lies in the elimination process is that the author's personality and beliefs do not exactly match the Jed-image that was projected throughout the books. Even the authors close friends do not know he wrote the books. But if you look really close at this individual you will see the matches.
Jed (the author) never retired. He in fact is still very active in his teacher role. He also has continued on with writing though nothing has been published for profit yet.
I was met with disapointment when I realized who wrote the books. He is far from being free from his ego. I am not positive if it would be good or bad to spill the beans on him. He has gone to great lengths to hide his identity even licensing the books to a person by the name of Peter Sweeney. They are registered under Peter's name but he is not the author.
Take the hints that I said in my first post and investigate for yourself.

Suggestion:
Your homepage uses of the word "searching" which quite alot. I would argue that we should discourage searching.
The great spiritual teachers speak of the truth within and once we feel (or sense) conscious awareness in the present moment, the search is over!
That is it; the state-of-grace, heaven or nirvana that religions aspire to. A timeless connection to universal life, accessable to us in an instant.
There it is -a priceless gift- freely available to everyone, just go beyond the worldly conditioning.

Dear Shawn,
Why not simply "spill the beans" on the Jed McKenna identity issue?
I'm dying to know who he really is (and am relieved to hear that he does actually teach), but I lack the general knowledge to use your leads to track down his real identity - believe me, I've tried. :-)
Any help along these lines would be greatly appreciated!
