I am baffled by the unusual quietness that has befallen this forum. The noticeable absence of arguments and intellectual discussions amongst its users is a perplexing phenomenon that I have not previously witnessed. Can anyone guess as to why this is occurring?

I am baffled by the unusual quietness that has befallen this forum. The noticeable absence of arguments and intellectual discussions amongst its users is a perplexing phenomenon that I have not previously witnessed. Can anyone guess as to why this is occurring? Most people on the forum have expressed their understanding, and any interest in arguing has ceased, so there's no longer much to say here. Another possible reason for decreased participation is that there are now numerous non-duality zoom meetings and YouTube presentations every day of the week, so many people may be interacting with each other in that way. On a recent zoom ND meeting three people mentioned that they've been regularly listening to YouTube interviews and podcasts with Angelo Dilullo, and two of those people had attended zoom multi-day virtual retreats with him. The opportunities for these kinds of meetings seem to be increasing all the time with numerous ND sages. |

My own theory would be that over the last six months or so the forum drifted a bit too far away from nonduality / awakening in all of its essential forms. And too far into speculative and anti-science realms. This forum stood out with its refined and intelligent approach to nonduality - it left behind a lot of the cliched, run of the mill stuff that you find on most forums. That’s the reason I visit and contribute when I can. But some of the highly speculative and dubious content that has appeared lately has just turned me off - there are dozens of forums catering for that stuff. I suspect that I’m not alone. |

Nope, arguing forum can never be equivalent with watching youtube videos.

You can not restrict any argument to take place in a particular direction. That's the nature of argument. I completely agree. But that misses the point based on your OP. Let me give a silly example. If this forum moved more and more towards talking about football, I would have no problem with that (in principle) but I would stop visiting.
The USP of this place has been its quality of pointing and analysis on topics related to nonduality, realisation etc. If it were to move to more New Age type subjects then, just as I don’t bother with other New Age forums, I wouldn’t bother coming here. Of course there is always room for some crossover with those types of approaches. |

I'm just an occasional lurker of this forum. The food-fights is what turns me off. I visit every once in a while, see that the food-fights are still quite dominant and leave. Maybe some enjoy such a format but I don't.

There are different types of conversations, and forums are preferred by many because they offer the flexibility of reading and writing at any time. Philosophical topics are better suited for forums because they stimulate the mind. Additionally, the community in these forums tends to favor written discussions over video content, and some have yet to transition to video-based platforms like YouTube. |

I'm just an occasional lurker of this forum. The food-fights is what turns me off. I visit every once in a while, see that the food-fights are still quite dominant and leave. Maybe some enjoy such a format but I don't. While food fights can accelerate conversations, they lack value and are disliked by some individuals. In contrast, certain discussions can be beneficial for improving people's lives. However, those types of conversations have been absent since Enigma departed from the forum. |

The absence of Enigma, Figgles, and Robertk is a significant loss for this forum, and it is particularly evident that the forum has been affected by the departure of Enigma, no matter whether you agree or not. |

Enigma opted to leave due to the difficult circumstances, Figgles was banned, Robert decided to depart, and Sree was banned. |
