New American Standard Bible "In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you." --- John 14:2 - commentariesTo me, that means that each personality (house) has several states of consciousness (rooms). JC was projecting there to acquire knowledge and guidance to share with his adepts, and prepare them to follow in his steps. The Father is the non-physical entity that incarnated into the current personality, a symbolic "father", an originator. ty, my Mother sent me to one of those houses at age 5
and I had to sit-it-out with all the other boys and girls attending Sunday School, my bladder stretched to the limit.
I asked to go to the loo but the ugly woman wouldn't allow us to move; we had to all experience how bad our parents were
for killing Gods Son and so when the bell was rung for milk and cookies, I bolted, leaving my wet patch for her to clean-up and never returned. Have you not gone beyond lifes curtain yet?
I was raised Southern Baptist, was at church Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night and twice a year every night for a week of revival, sometimes two, and a week of VBS in the Summer. That building has the year of my birth on its cornerstone. Somehow the indoctrination didn't take, but the truth in the Bible penetrated in-to me. About age 14-17 my teachers couldn't answer my questions, at 17 I began to explore outside Christianity. It was about 10 years later when I discovered the saints and mystics of Christianity, and the Eastern Orthodox Church, which is firmly based on Eastern Orthodox monasticism. The Dark Night of the Soul by St John of the Cross was a major explanation for me... It's probably good that you escaped...so young...

I left the SBC at age 19 even though there was a ring of truth to what Christ reportedly said in the NT. Nothing resonated until the age of 31 when I first read about Zen Masters, Taoist Masters, Hindu sages, etc. My first thought after reading about ZM's was, "Wow, these guys are saying the same thing as JC but from a different cultural perspective." Unfortunately, none of those books explained what sages did to discover whatever it was that changed their understanding and their way of life. It took another 9 years before I finally found a book that described a meditation technique that could lead to peace of mind. I started meditating out of desperation, and realizations almost immediately started happening.

There are many enlightened women, although they're not quite as well known as the men--Barbara Rhodes, Jan frazier, Gangagji, Tess Hughes, Linda Clair, etc. etc. Tolle, Mooji, Adyashanti, Spira, etc., just have bigger name recognition, probably because of best seller books and tons of videos on youtube. So are the men more enlightened or are they better at bull-- I mean PR? I don't know, but if I ever try to rename myself to something like AdyaBobby, shoot me.

Billy’s Sunday night films of criminals ‘turning to the Lord’ was a big hit in NZ, we living on the dark-side of town. Many children gained their ‘future-life briefing’ on Sunday nights, those criminals explaining exactly how they defrauded the ‘system’ to get by, when food was short, our parents also starving. Glad you survived to pour concrete dear man.

Yes sir, it all be the same thing, our limited understanding not permitting us to get-seriously interested and so, take the leap. Took me 27 years to get into meditation after living ‘my fathers conditioning’; wake-ups occurring all along the way. Now my body has aged 74 years and 5 days (plus 9 months in the Womb), I am primarily interested in living within the framework of dying/gracefully having noticed along the way, that not all old folk die well, many like myself residing in the body.

You sealed your own fate, Bobbyji. 😁 Strange how we have to live-out our desires, before we can relax and have nothing to say. I'll probably need to reincarnate with a new body if I'm going to live out desires. And since reincarnation is bunk, I'm screwed.

And since reincarnation is bunk, I'm screwed. True, there is no hope for the living. Tattooists learn early-on in that it’s illegal to preserve human skin no matter Who the Artist I might be. “Would you like your Husband mounted erect or seated Madam?”

Just your little ripple can't experience the other ones. Ayahuasca, maybe.

Continued from Verse Twenty-One22. THE DIVINE GIVES LIGHT TO THE MIND AND SHINES WITHIN IT. EXCEPT BY TURNING THE MIND INWARD AND FIXING IT IN THE DIVINE, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO KNOW HIM THROUGH THE MIND. Commentary: God is nothing other than the source of all. By definition God exceeds the ability of the mind to grasp it. It in fact is nothing other than the light that illuminates all attempts at understanding; that light cannot itself be understood. The only way, then, to know that light, is to turn the mind away from the changeable, illuminated objects… there is no place left for it to go then but to the light itself. Continued from Verse Twenty-Two23. THE BODY DOES NOT SAY 'I'. NO ONE WILL ARGUE THAT EVEN IN DEEP SLEEP THE 'I' CEASES TO EXIST. ONCE THE 'I' EMERGES, ALL ELSE EMERGES. WITH A KEEN MIND ENQUIRE WHENCE THIS 'I' EMERGES. Commentary: The body, being insentient, cannot actually believe anything, any more than rocks can believe anything. So “I“ is not rooted in the body. And even in deep sleep, we have a rudimentary sense of our existence, which is why we know, when we wake up, that we slept, and didn’t just cease to exist from the moment we fell asleep at night to when we opened our eyes the next morning. So “I“ exist even in deep sleep. We should note here that the I that remains the same between deep sleep and waking is the true I, whereas all that we have access to in the waking state is a modification of that true I, namely, the waking I, which gives a sense of division and separation. That is the I we are forced to look for, and when we do, we will find that it is merely a reflection and modification of the true I, which watches over all the states of consciousness (waking, dreaming, and deep sleep), and can either be experienced with or without a sense of duality and separation. The senses of duality or the lack thereof — which we call being conscious or unconscious, respectively — are merely thoughts. At any time, see all the forty verses posts that I have published so far here.

When mind has Lost or misplaced something,
Mind can be 'let-go' of (dettached from)
whereby the body (when set in motion) can take us to where the article be found. Try it.
Learning to let-go our attachment to the left or right hemisphere
be like stepping out of gaol momentarilly.

Continued from Verse Twenty-Three24. THE BODY DOES NOT SAY 'I'. NO ONE WILL ARGUE THAT EVEN IN DEEP SLEEP THE 'I' CEASES TO EXIST. ONCE THE 'I' EMERGES, ALL ELSE EMERGES. WITH A KEEN MIND ENQUIRE WHENCE THIS 'I' EMERGES. Commentary: The body, being insentient, cannot call itself the I any more than the words on a page can speak themselves. And the Self, being beyond thought, does not change or act, and cannot and does not call itself by any name. The light of the Self, then, is said to reflect upon the body (or the body-mind), and in the reflection of that body in the light of the Self — is said to be the ego which arises. This is much like the imaginary character that is created when a reader (analogous to the Self) reads a book (analogous to the body). In the interaction between reader and book arises an imaginary person who is called the character. This character does not actually do, feel, or think anything, but is only imagined to do so. This is called the knot that ties consciousness and matter, or the ego. This imaginary character is the one who seems to seek spiritual truth, and at the end of its quest, will be dissolved away by the the knowledge of its own imaginary nature against the background of Self. At any time, see all the forty verses posts that I have published so far here.
