I don't see the presence of interest as the equivalent of a particular state of mind. If so, you are arguing against being 'interested'? You've lost track of the thread of the dialog. The state of mind in question involved an adrenaline hit from noticing a stimuli. Which is predicated on interest more than a particular state of mind. (The kid who is searching for easter eggs, gets a hit when he sees a sparkly foil egg hiding behind a rock, as he is intent upon gathering eggs he can munch on later).

You don't have to believe my denial of your projection, but as I'm quite conscious of what my actual state of mind/body is as I'm generating the replies, your speculation is, as I've already explained, entirely revealing as well.

So, carrying on with the exploration. His online name is more related to laughing at others...as depicted in this thread where he links to comments made from others that he finds inferior to his own that he 'muttley snickers' at them. Thus the recognition he self feeds on and seems to need or desire from others is that he is superior in some manner to the people he laughs at. Which i speculate is forced in order to compensate or counter possible low self worth issues due to the lack of abundant joyfulness in his demeanor. Yeah, I see a huge difference between laughing 'at' others and laughing 'with them' or better yet, at yourself. I agree, The impetus to laugh 'at' is very much a compensation of sorts. You and your friend should go back and read the OP stating the purpose of the threads, and the dialog that led up to it. While the question is long settled at this point, there is no mercy rule involved in this game.
