FWIW, the poem I posted yesterday is not considered haiku exactly. Most editors would likely call it senryu. Roughly speaking, the difference being that haiku is based upon observation of nature, and senryu is based upon the observation of human nature. Sometimes there is a mix of both nature and human nature, but it would still place it firmly in the senryu category in many eyes. In any case, the best source of good haiku and/or senryu seems to be born of paying attention to what is.

Yes. Precision here is in the absence of interpretation. One of the big no-no's of haiku is telling instead of showing. Unfortunately, telling is what the peep is all about.
