Last week sometime the thought occurred to me - that these negative thoughts/memories/feelings I get are like mind cramps.
When I was young, I use to get cramps in my legs and feet. Then as I got older I stopped getting them. Or did I?
I often still notice the beginnings of cramps in my legs or feet. I will quickly and automatically correct the position of my extemporizes to prevent the oncoming cramp when I feel them come on. And I can't remember the last time I had a full blown cramp, but I can remember almost getting cramps. I use to also wake up from sleep with terrible cramps, but those too are gone - or most likely corrected automatically while I sleep as I adjusted to these painful events.
So it dawned on me that these painful emotional events are no different. Also, even hypnotic "positive" fantasies are the same - like mind cramps.

Hi karen,
Sounds like the unraveling of knots I mentioned in my "Changes post." Each unraveling allows energy to flow freely where it was once blocked.

Sounds like very similar awarenesses I have. Opening to the mind cramps is definitely the best path. Positive distractions seems to work too like exercise or meditation. Negative distractions are too uncomfortable or lost ability to work.
I also had bad leg cramps one night and I never felt pain so bad. My calf muscle tore it was so intense that I limped for a weak. I caught myself in the middle of the agony creating a story of how bad this is and stopped it and the pain was much more bearable (but it still was pretty freakin bad). Its amazing how pain conditions because I learned to point your toes up instead of down to avoid triggering the cramp aftre reading about them. Now as soon as I feel something in the calf at night I point those toes up before the thought arises to do it. I imagine that is what our mind does with emotional pain that causes all the insanity.
