So this bodymind finally got off it's fat ass, trundled Sue into the car and traveled to the location of the most proximate other bodyminds advertising an interest in this stuff.
The group is organized and the discussion led by Mark Scorelle, who was at the 2012 SIG retreat that ZD spoke at and who I'm pretty sure has some affiliation with TAT. Mark's a laid-back sweetheart of a gentleman who has a wide breadth of experience in the nonduality community and has created a warm and welcoming informal atmosphere for a few of his friends to gather around. He's also the editor/compiler of a new book coming out that I've plugged over in the marketing section.
We watched a recent video of ET speaking about St. Francis, and after that folks were invited to inform the group about upcoming events and publications that they had found to be of interest. From there a loosely led discussion on a myriad of topics ensued including different types of paths and practices, the results of and relative effects of various types of realization, the nature of the witness, events of everyday life cast in terms of the teachings, and many other related ideas.
What struck me about the gathering was the combination of near complete informal impersonality coupled with a very intense and profound sense of intimacy. It was obvious that not everyone always agreed or resonated with everything that was said, but it seemed to me to unfold in an unbroken context of equanimity that was quite a bit different and soooo much much more than a simple polite veneer of civility. As I told the group, I was just very grateful to finally be in a room with other folks who had an interest in these ideas.
If you live near Ithaca and have an interest in the teachers reviewed on Sean's site then I highly recommend following the groups meetup page.
