This book, to be released in September, is a compilation based on the works and notes of Paul Brunton. I met the editor/compiler recently as described here. So I'm thinking about starting a new book club on this one, if there's any interest, let me know.

I ordered the book. Can't promise I'll want to get into a discussion about it (that urge seems to be absent right now), but the comments about Brunton piqued my interest. Book's due in on September 10th and I leave shortly after that for an Adyashanti retreat. Catch you on the flip side

Paraphrasing Paul, 'it's consciousness itself that should hold attention and not the objects of consciousness ' if time allows I'll order and read this book , it'll be appreciated if you do discuss it a bit...

I only read the forward and the glossary, but so far, everything that's a quote from Brunton is good. I really like that the writers put in a glossary - I especially like the descriptions of 'self' and 'mind', two terms that confuse the h@ll out of me. Looking forward to digging in! You done yet?

Hey Quinn ........ I've been reading other stuff to......so up to page 36. He's pretty good....as in, pretty accurate. His basic point is whether our attention is turned outward toward life or inward towards what he calls the Overself. The key to reading anybody is, can I do this? Can I follow the words to being able to experience, in myself, what he or she is describing. PB describes what to watch, and how (to a certain extent). I could recommend him to anybody. This book is good because it cherry-picks from all his writings........He is also good (IMO) because he describes our world as real, relatively real, but real and serving a purpose. I can work with that. sdp
