Mr B .. you are not a neophyte, so why do you do this? You know that nobody "gets" enlightened .. that the premise of such a question is flawed from the onset.
What do you do in your daily practices, or whatever, to further your understandings...?

I don't see how you could be enlightened and not know it. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but aren't you one of the ones seeking it? As I said to BB, it's a mystical, mysterious type of thing, and we can't argue - really - with anyone who says they are or they aren't because it's all up to the individual to define it. So you believe in the mystical?
I think there are certain qualities one can say true Enlightenment would have. Wouldn't you?

You mean you don't believe in enlightenment as being mystical in nature? Just asking... Uh, that would make an interesting list (certain qualities of someone who is truly enlightened)!

One is mystical and I forgot the other one :) but it seemed to be more mechanical.
Yes, the qualities would start with
1. Halo Required 2. Shape-shifting 3. Unending Happiness

Anyhow, I give up on this thread. I just profoundly and honestly don't understand how you guys can be like that. Just doesn't make sense to me, this huge disconnect between what you claim and what you actually say and do. Like, when I know something then I'll explain it so that everyone understands. And when I don't know then I'll just admit it. It#s that simple. But you guys are different, I don't understand why you are like that. Man in all genuine seriousness, that's the point. You should be confused. It doesn't make any sense. Now if you could go into that, sit still in that confusion, you would probably start getting somewhere. Precisely!

Interesting. Have you ever seen anyone with a halo? (I haven't.) I don't know which type of enlightenment your list is from, but I'm wondering if some people are enlightened, and don't know it. I can imagine being able to 'shape-shift' without a person realizing they even have that capability! (I do have quite an imagination.) As far as #3 goes (unending happiness), I can imagine that people who are 'enlightened' can get angry or curious or ___ without becoming unenlightened. **shrug**

Mr B .. you are not a neophyte, so why do you do this? You know that nobody "gets" enlightened .. that the premise of such a question is flawed from the onset. Why do you say I'm not a neophyte? I very strongly susprect that of all people on this forum I am the least enlightened one. I've never even had a spiritual experience. I strongly reject the claim that nobody gets enlightened. The fact is that for example Eckart Tolle's mind-body is enlightened and mine isn't. Nothing. Whatever I have tried so far has had no effect whatsoever. So I decided to stop wasting my time. So before I pick up a practise it must be one that is a lot of fun, or I must be certain that it will deliver the goods. But I'm not going to go on a wild goose chase.

Dismissing a seekers words just because he's a seeker ignores the fact that he might know something you don't. Freejoy didn't say anything with authority about something that he hopes to learn about.

I did , but you will not look without your agenda..... Right! He just thought he found a sneaky way to get the answers he wants to pry out of us. It sounds innocent enough -- but yeah, there's that agenda of his. Do you still like his post?

About halos, I read where some saints would light up while praying.

Btw, did you think I was trying to 'dismiss' you (like Laughter said I was)?

I don't know why not. You'd think they would since they would be more in alignment with God.
