Steve, whether E. and E. are hubristic, or arrogant, or condescending, or ... whatever, you need to get over it, dude. That you're having such an apparently difficult time doing that, isn't reflecting very well on you as a teacher, imho.

Hi Steven, No I don't doubt any of the list of amazing things you've done with or posess in your life. It never even crossed my mind that you'd be lying about those things. It just seems irrelevant to the topic at hand, that's all. Why does any of that matter? You feel disrespected in some way. And you list off your accomplishments as an attempt to cause those who you charge with disrespecting you to take a second look at what you are saying. That totally misses the point, IMHO. What's more, your list of amazing accomplishments seems to be an attempt to add some sort of authority to what you say. So when we're talking hubris -- extreme haughtiness, pride or arrogance -- it sort of seems like that's actually exactly what you are doing. Hence, my little observation of projection. on the enlightenment thingie -- yea I know you didn't use those words. I'll see what I can find. Max you are misreading my intent and motivation, I've tried to be clear so that wouldn't happen, but obviously have not done a good job of it. well i got my understanding from reading something like this: "In any case, I'm Not claiming that as any particular valuation of an individual on this path, just pointing out the hubrous of enigma and exactemente's continous dismisal of other folks insights given the kind of people they interact with here. "The point was to say that maybe, just maybe, instead of taking the constant position of smug dismisal, thy might consider that their are other bright capable aware folks here that might actually be right when they disagree with them....I'm just saying, entertain the concept once in a while instead of profulgating this continuous spout of condescending dismissal." Read more: spiritualteachers.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=misc&action=display&thread=1943&page=3#ixzz1ld2ankeofor example it seems like when you mention "bright and capable people" you are actually referring to yourself. and, notwithstanding your saying "I'm Not claiming that as any particular valuation of an individual on this path" what you are saying is that all those accomplishments or traits or whatever point to the fact that you may be bright and clever. but the thing is that brightness and cleverness totally misses the whole point, doesn't it?

That you're having such an apparently difficult time doing that, isn't reflecting very well on you as a teacher, imho. Darn, I could have saved myself a lot of typing if I'd just thought to say that Whether I am full of myself or not is a perspective you hold irregardless of my positionality or lack thereof... Well absolutely. And yet at the same time, I'm not totally inventing it. Like the man who mistakes the rope for a snake at twilight, there is something there. Humility is one of those spectrum things... What (I hope) we're all trying to do here is See Things As They Actually Are. The question is, in this particular case, which of us is closer to seeing the truth of this aspect of your character. I'll close with a link to the First Initiation By Jeanne de Salzmann . Bonne soirée.

Funny thread but extremely sad at the same time. I still find it bizarre when enigma is attacked as I perceive him to be very helpful. He has a dry sense of humour that's all. He challenges posters but that's fine. It's referred to as poking and if you think he's wrong, poke back. Screaming is not necessary and loses you the argument.

This looks more and more like an outright conspiracy against Tath... and no one here seems to acknowledge his divine humbleness...

I think I see a pattern here:
Enigma - dysfunctional wife, fast food hut worker, no income statements, no IQ statements, almost no typos
Tath - fully functional wife, high powered consultant, well-off-ish, IQ 160ish, almost always typos

Enigma just says he worked at a burger place.

also why are you being invisible? Laziness and time. ;-) My phone keeps me logged in here all the time, even when I am not on... People were seeing me logged in and sending me questions via posts and pm that I was not responding too becuase I wasn't on, and a few thought I was not answering them becuase I was ignoring them or had changed my mind about helping them, (people who come to me for help and advice are often, but not always, in a kind of lost ness and/or spiritual crisis mode, and in that state sometimes see things in a negative light until we get them clear of that) So instead of logging in and out throughout the day, or having folks upset that I wasn't answering them when they think I'm on but not, I just leave the setting on invisible, and don't go through the motions of logging in and out or changing the setting everytime I pop in throughout the day. If that were true then there would be at least one invisible user online 24/7. And that just isn't the case. Most of the time there are no invisible users online.
