What are you doing here Steven? Really, what are you trying to achieve?
Look, you've obviously got a lot of energy and you want to help, and there are people here who find you helpful? So why not focus on that, and stop .... well I'm not even sure what you're trying to do here.
There's an "Ignore" function somewhere, why don't you try that?
You're currently being very negative about someone elses negativity....it's....it just seems like you're losing perspective here?
Edit: Nope, there used to be an "ignore" option but it doesn't seem to be active anymore. You'll just have to use the manual work-around on that one.
Edit 2: You're hitting 2500 posts today. Happy birthday. In 5 months, that's an average of 16.7 posts per day, 7 days a week. And they called Bach prolific!

Don't worry, when enigma gets too much negative attention on his negativity he marches out a poetic post or some stuff about his satsangs with his disfunctional wife that he is saving, and all is right with the world ;D It's not him I'm worried about as I'm sure you realise. He's quite happy with himself (a point that I'm sure you've already made  ). It's you that seems unhappy. Is this really how you want to be spending the hours and minutes of your life? Is this a duty for you - trying to teach the cigarette man? Or is it everyone else that you're performing this service for - showing the boogy man up for what he is? Can you try saying "F___ him, let him hold on to whatever delusions of attainment he wants to" ? In a mirror. Allow him to Be what he is - annoying and smug and misguided and irritating as that might be? |

Enigma may be refering to Jack in the box , if you are out side of the USA , its a fast food chain . The drive through usted to have this clown head with a speaker in it , sometimes you could understand the guy/girl taking your order and he/she got it rite . Then on a t.v. add they blew them up and now we have this guy with a clown head , in a shirt and tie. desert rat

You see how angry sdp gets when I even hint at the ultimate futility of all of it. It makes you angry too, because it leaves you with a tool box full of useless tools. It leaves Steven angry because he's left with a book of 10,000 futile practices. That last bit was a giraffe and worthy of entry. Is that what made you angry today? Well, it's true. All of your practices are ultimately futile. Apparently, they haven't brought you much Peace. |

I'm really surprised that they get under your skin, SC. I'll have to admit that they both got under my skin at first, though each for different reasons. But, the thing is, I realized that they persist in what only appears to be negativity in order to make the subtle point that the buttons they push need to be transcended. Apparently, you're having difficulty transcending yours.  |

It's only when there is resistance to that process that a button seems to have been pushed. |

I just don't understand why he's having difficulty accepting things as they are. My guess is that his actual subjective experience is that he's not having difficulty with it. It's clear to us that he is, and part of the giveaway is the original post in which he announced out of the blue that I was a negative, nasty (whatever the other adjective was) person. Especially considering how he talks about using effective methods of communication, why would he begin by name calling, and end by making sure the message is personal? Something you've never heard me do, except maybe as a joke, is call peeps such names, or go out of my way to make it personal. The reason is that there is no judgment, and it is not personal. The comment about my "dysfunctional wife" falls neatly into the 'nasty' category and also reveals anger and judgment, but of course he will see it as simply revealing the truth. Why would he need to reveal such a 'truth' to me? Given that, I look at his paradigm of lengthy practices and see that they have failed to eradicate some very fundamental unconscious triggers. As Andrew implies, the work has to be done. Since it wasn't done before becoming an 'enlightened teacher', it has to be done after, and yet there is no humility remaining on which to base such basic work. |

And I doubt that someone that unstable should call himself a teacher, except you want to attract equally volatile students like FJ.

I'm not looking for nice positive uplifting people in these discussions. I'm looking for insight. Someone pointing out where they think I'm asleep is welcome. I don't consider that bullying.

I have an IQ of 160 ish, I'm one of the leading people in my professional field in the world, I've spent over 20 years having the spiritual enquiry be the center of my life, I have explored and experienced in almost every way possible on this path and reside in alert still silent empty nature without getting absorbed in the mind movements that still arise... I've studied the teaching of almost every system from every tradition and not just studied them but practiced them and reverse engineered them from the basest of mind absorption to the ultimate clarity of essential empty nature...
