"I" is a funny thing that takes preferance to the positive; hense our egos become attached to positive thought and wrestle the negative ones which will always be there in our minds as 'mind' is what creates duality..... Could be something to do with ones BRAIN being in two bits with a bridge? Sitting on the Bridge and descending is the process of relaxation in meditation. |

tom stine clued me into ZD's pal banjoladeer Mike Snider via a good interview at Buddha at the Gas Pump with Rick Archer.
this is from his email-newsletter:
"So what is the Truth? It is a simple thing, really: you are not now, nor have you ever been, what you think you are. "
It's pretty much what we go on and on about here (to no avail :-)).

thats when serving the other returns me to the solution
as it brings me together again, back into the All.

In truth you are the only spiritual teacher you need for who knows what you need more than you. All the spiritual teachers simply show you that you have it within you, they help to remove the "you" to simply "be"...no mind! Experience is lifes greatest teacher and no one knows what path one is supposed to be on but the one thus, go where your heart leads you but never fail to learn from its lessons and continue to grow into new dimensions of not knowing inorder to know! We all are at different levels of consciousness hence not one of us can make another see what its not capable of seeing and no one can give another the "truth" other wise it would not be the "truth!" As J. Krishnamurti put it; "Truth is a pathless land" and "Inquiry is the flame of attention." Light the flame inside by inquiring into the truth of your thoughts and see that they are all maya. Don't worry about anything you have all of eternity to remeber who we all truly IS, BE and AM! BE STILL and KNOW!

Judge, what acewall is trying to show you that you still are "attached" to an "Identity" known as the "I" or the "Ego." The truth of this is in the very words you used to manifest your thoughts i.e. "I Think I can't be wrong." This projection of the mind (thought) was created in the ego (ignorance) because in "truth" you don't "Know" if what this being "Tom Stine" is saying is true or not because "You" don't know that there is no "You!" "Thinking" is not knowing, as you either know or know you don't know thus knowing what is doing the thinking! And when someone "believes" "they" have something to teach they don't know the truth! So here is the truth; Don't believe a word written here but take it within and "know" if it is true or not.

Here is how simple the awakening process is: OBSERVE the thoughts that enter the mind as though "YOU" are standing on the sidelines simply "watching" the thoughts enter and exit without grabbing on to them. Simply ALLOW them to come and go. ACCEPT them as "THEY" are as "They" are not "YOU." Become AWARE of your feelings as the body is ALWAYS telling you where your thoughts are i.e. if "YOU" are "thinking" negative thoughts your body will feel negative (Sadness, depression, anger, hatred, separation, judgment, etc.etc.) If "You" are just BEING and not "thinking" then you will have no feelings but be in a state of peace, bliss.. everyhting other than this is the "Fall from grace" and is the RESULT of thinking or the "fruit of the knowledge of the tree of good and evil" i.e. DUALITY=Suffering. TRUTH =Unity or ONENES All of life is originated within the mind and projected out into the world in the forms of sound and motion thus meditation teaches silence and stilness which brings about emptiness (of the mind-no mind=no thoughts) hence meditation is the key to unlock the door to the "kingdom of TRUTH=REALITY=NOW=ETERNITY=GOD!" In short the quickest path to the truth is to begin to live in undiscriminating virtue which in truth is just reverence for ALL OF LIFE.....including your being as well for if you don't love your being you cannot love other beings nor will you allow your being to be loved by other beings but in truth we all are one being simply remembering how to know who we're not so we can just BE who we all IS and this is the energy of COMPASSION. Want to know the truth of the creator, look at nature...what does it not give for free? Who does it deny the sun, the air, the water, the plants, the fragrance of the flowers etc. etc. from? NO ONE because "the spirit" doesn't deny its own manifested material being in other words look in the mirror and see the truth...the creator lies not outside its creation but within it. The cure lies not outside the cause hence man's belief in his thoughts as the truth are the cancer in this insane world of suffering he's created out of ignorance (thoughts) thus not untill it awakens to the truth of who its not (knowing no mind..truth) can it know it is also the cure of its ignorance!

I don't know this dude Tom Stine... however I do know that one can get drunk on nondual teachings, such as "there is no I" ... "there is no doer".... on and on.
The call for one to "awaken" is a pretty simplistic - to be conscious, in the moment, unattached to all our head trips. However we have more potential that wakefulness.
Richard Rose's system is deeper, a step beyond being awake. It asks me to be a vector, to do conscious work, and to cultivate a sangha.

I agree that one can get caught up in non-dual teachings and can make one fell like they're going insane but all the teachings are doing is showing one how to get out of its thoughts and be completley present in the now. All thoughts are of the past or the future (time) and are caused by ones attachment to its false identity as a this or a that when all you are is between this and that, the am-ness or being. I wouldn't spend too much of your moments in the now "trying" to "achive" this state as it happens on its own, just be in the moment, attentive, aware, accepting, allowing and you will be ALIVE! Simply know why your doing and saying what your doing and saying and don't do or say it if it isn't the trtuh but when you speak or act not in truth then know that you are the one who chose to do it and learn from it.

I recall many years ago,
when i fell out of my individual-self made mind
whilst sitting under a tree in the NZ native bush,
after having read about of one of the Masters in the World
who had recently died...
"i" was there/here sitting and unknowingly-functioning at the 'centre of gravity' and when i wanted to arise, it felt huge-like, a boulder (rock) and when i finally got to walk-off,
gradually within this strange state, 'i' related to the thought that it had become 'poccessed' somehow
by the so called 'dead' Master, my i not having any knowledge-about these things:The i had never met a Teacher in those years and so therefore were 'lost at sea'. (where ships in the night occur)
When i walked, the i walked like an oceanic whalelike creature,
which was so arresting,(all asbsorbed samadhe state?) my 'i' had lost its bounce, my i's usual demeanor.
It took me many years
untill the i was able to understand 'it' NOT being possession(lol)
but 'being simply' within the Centre of Ones Gravity.
Ego, who takes the bait of a promised Truth,
uses 'attunement' through inquisitive thinking and te genuine relaxation of meditation to arrive at at-one-ment?

By serving anothers needs(lets say working as a Nurse-Aide in a Geriatric hosp) this i notices that intuitive-mind gives what is required in the moment and surprises separated ego in action, when 'being Oneself isnt the state of Mind'. By 'serving one re-unites' with the sourse in action... and merges with ones clientelle, the sickly and Hospitals-Staff, leaving Ones 'separated ego state' for dead. Looking at duality and reality, trying to hold the attension in awareness ' and say it as it appears to me is tricky shit.  |
