OMG I think I remember you when I lived in Ojai. Did you ever go to weekly talks we had at Dr. John Nasse home. If I am not mistaken you do not believe that anyone has authority to speak on non duality unless they are commission by someone in some kind of Indian group. This is not Vedanta my friend. Namaste Michael Eckart Tolle is a post suicidal fraud and it's actually very scary how many people seem to think he has anything worth while to say. What is his qualification to say ANYTHING about subjects as esoteric and illusion prone as the nature of the Absolute Truth? For more detail I invite the readers of this to check the new topic I just posted called: "Who AM I". mayesvara dasa American Vedic Association Ojai, Ca.

Tolles failing is in showing you your ego and offering no solution for disrupting it.
As a result you get into negative emotional feedback loops initiated by the ego leading to the depths of depression

I read tolle and listened to his books and it seemed helpfull to notice the ego. Pain body made sense and that's about it. He brought awareness that there is something wrong with humans, but did not give a solution. He talked about enlightenment and could not show how to enlighten. I would say skip tolle. Not the best pointer.

He seems about peace and freedom. Sure but sorting out the freedom isn't peaceful, its hard F....... work, its really looking into the situation, hes coated it like a happy pill. I think hes nonsense. He appears to be for the masses and its all so very very nice. It isn't nice, its a catastrophe and has to be like that. Cant stand anyone who presents all happy and serene and WOW, we are all one, everything. Well good for him. I feel he is a fake. If he was serious he would say that sorting this out is hellish. my 2 cents

I've read Tolle and Krishnamurti and Gangaji and Kapleau and Nisargadatta and Blofield and Reps and De Mello and Muktananda and a bunch of others. Found some excitement in most of them. But alas! I remain; the frustrated wanter. Regarding one of the earlier posts: I also believe Tolle is a series of dots. ?

I think the problem a lot of people have is they judge a spiritual teacher when they look for a complete spiritual teaching. I think that almost every spiritual teacher has something to offer. Take what resonates with you and leave the rest out. That's just my opinion. If one were to really listen to Tolle, I think they'd realize that some of his stuff is razor sharp! I think the problem, though, is the manner in which his material is conveyed. He's got such a soft demeanor that he is often misinterpreted. He's sold millions of books. He says the ego is the false self, and that's pretty easy to digest. But if here were to say YOU were the false self, or that you didn't exist, I highly doubt he'd have sold as many copies
