Haha! Veddy interesting. It's been on my shelf for about 5 years now, still in the wrapper. Kept waiting for the urge to begin it, but it hasn't come. After your glowing recommendations...checking....checking....still not there! If you're not a Cradle Catholic, I'd say it's not worth it for most people. The language always seemed to me to be rather a deprogramming-type language for Roman Catholics. That's somewhat the same impression I have of the teachings too B...although, my familiarity with ACIM comes mostly through the book, "The Disappearance of the Universe," by Gary. Renard, and not so much the direct teachings themselves...Renard is clearly a fan (even teacher I think) of ACIM....the book describes a series of conversations Renard supposedly had with two "Ascended masters" who would apparently, magically appear in his living room at random, for several years, ongoing. It's apt to say that I 'slogged' through this book as well ......was reading it for the purpose of review and Did not enjoy it much at all. I had such little to say about it after, that I never did complete that review....hehe....& there's no way now I'm going back in for a refresher....

One less thing to have to undo.

But, I converted to Catholicism (always lookin' for Truth, eh), so it initially captured my attention. Somewhat.

Most are headed for the exit door. There's an 89 year old woman in our little meditation group. She was raised in a pretty religious home (both grandparents were ministers), but she could never accept what was being spoon-fed to her. So she hopped religions. Tried many different churches...looking, looking. She finally gave up. She points to her solar plexus and says, "I found God right here." I tell ya, B, she's the walking, talking embodiment of Love. I'd like to put her picture on here and let everyone look in her eyes - you'd feel it too. Looking's good.

Sounds like my kind o' gal.

I don't think so. I think most think it's a combo deal - a little out there, a little in here.

One of my old favorite SNL short-clips was: If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting! -- Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handey Intuition is a matter for the solar plexus, 'cause that's where it's all at.

Hey R U guys baiting ?..... You an ACIM fan, runstill? I don't know anything about it to be a fan or not. There is a mild curiosity about ACIM do to hearing it referred to on the forum and other places. If any one feels like giving a little synopsis it would be appreciated.

After your glowing recommendations...checking....checking....still not there! Mine has been on the shelf for closer to ten. Hehe. However, I can feel the radiant glow of the Holy Spirit emanating from the shelf. Serially, though I can't imagine ever reading it, I've been on enough ACIM forums (and those peeps love to quote) that I feel I have a pretty good sense of it. I can't say I've ever been in disagreement with it. The students, however, have hopelessly faild to grasp the meaning.
