funny thing .. I started thinking about answering your question .. about what I'm like now, as opposed to what I "used to be like" .. but then I realized that there is no opposition, no way to compare.. sure, there are memories of a 'younger me', a guy who was attached to his thoughts and beliefs. or whatever but those memories aren't "real", only right here, right now is When I think about IT we do not change at all, only the body and mind alter, one wrinkling. Minds sometimes seize~up,brain tumors come to mind when we think too-hard an too long, without a break. Go soft when thinking, make it a pleasurable thing, copulate the thinker and thought luxuriating in love. peaceBeautiful my friend.

He never leaves the metaphor. He is pointing to a metaphor. When do things actually start getting real? In Hillig's model never, he is stuck in some weird inconsistent mythology and mistakes it for reality. Same as all the other nonduality teachers. Rule of thumb: Whenever a nonduality teacher says that "it's just a pointer" is precisely the moment when one should stop taking him seriously. Haha -- that's a good point. Should put that in a Cautions thread somewhere. wha? Here's a pointer: "nonconceptual awareness." Here's another: "deep sleep," though one could argue that it can be measured as delta waves from EEG or whatever. I'm talking about the experience of deep sleep (not much different than nonconceptual awareness, as I understand it). To that last bit...the only difference is one of alertness.

Hello Silver,
Unless the mind is needed it is not in movement, and this is effortless, no concentration or desire for a still mind, and any kind of practice is needed for this any longer, its just the natural state.
In that natural effortless stillness is a spaciousness that is inexplicably something more than a nice experience of the mind and body.
When the mind moves there is a profound recognition of God both in and as everything, and this makes the person moving around gracious, reverent, loving, and attentive in nearly every interaction and experience...
But mostly, there is a lot of spaciousness.
I've spent the last several years largely in solitude for most of my day, but recently ave been spending most of my day around folks that have no interest in spirituality or anything like that, one thing I am noticing, is that it seems like folks rise and fall with every little thing like its the end of the world lol
ps.......it's just a pointer :-)

That's nicely described, Steve -- thanks for your input.
