to the exclusion of all else? then the Camel attendant is riddled with flea-like concepts in his mind which he still needs to read the map across the Sahara. It's a trip when you and Laughter talk to each other in riddles.

They can....its a choice, a selection ;-) 1. Then why don't they? 2. Maybe we can have a trillion years of joy? 1. They are, some folks have an addiction to suffering, a real addiction to the nuero-peptides of suffering, and getting their fix brings them a kind of satisfaction, a kind of comfort, and kind of contentment with suffering....it may not be 'easy ' to switch to embracing sustained joy, because of habit, but the choice is still there , and its being made every waking moment, even if habitually so. 2. Some people would call that Sahaja Samadhi... Others would call that boring...kinda a choice.

Poets rapping with each other.... I was thinking about them the other day...both poets, but at different stages of the poetic essence. Laughter sees the world through the eyes of a poet...Acewall IS poetry incarnate. his mind only works in poetry :-) both are very beautiful to experience :-))

Negativity, in the form of suffering, depression and futility, can be very powerful in bringing about a willingness and sincerity that otherwise might never happen. Sure, but its also something that usually happens as a result of prolonged period of suffering at or near rock bottom....its also not "needed"....are you recommending prolonged periods of depression? I'm recommending that you stop recommending. Hehe. I have no idea and I'm not sure what would constitute progress, but it seems to me most awakenings occur from that suffering state. Peeps who have a positive attitude generally have no need to change anything.

It just means that we pretend things are better than they are because it makes us feel betterer. Nobody should be encouraged to do this as it's already self deception. Its the 'natural' state of our body/mind...I'm cool with settling into the natural state ;-) I think it's normal to be delusional. The 'natural state' seems to be equanimity, which remains in balance in spite of the dualistic movements toward positive and negative.

Oh I dunno about that, ZD seemed to turn out okay ;-) Maybe its just that formerly depressed folks make a bigger deal out of their reversal of fortune... I've met an awful lot of of VERY upbeat christians in the heartland that are easy to dismiss as "greater than thou" holy rollers, but upon closer inspection, are really filled with a sense of boundless love, Grace of God, and a real connection to God and all of God's creation. Ya find the same thing at the Friday Juma Prayer services at the local mosque etc.

Surrender comes out of struggle, not a positive attitude. (It's a general statement. Please don't tell me about cousin Joe who chose to be happy and became enlightened.)

It is merely survival instincts, hard wired or what-ever - instincts don't have to explain themselves -- they work. That's enough. You think too much, froggie.

Nah....no "broken machine"....just isness. The physical function of addiction via peptides and peptide receptors is well documented with observational science ;-) do you not "buy" that the earth is round and rotates around the sun also hehehe
