Spirituality has the potential to be big business. Especially since people will gladly give over their money for literally nothing in return. How many other industries can claim that? I think if there's a genuine interest about enlightenment, one can seriously stop looking at pop media for any relevant clarity. They're not giving over their money for nothing, they're definately buying something. Pop Spiritualism sells "FeelGoodism". Guys like Adyashanti, Mooji, Deepak Chopra, and countless others that are less effective marketers like Goode and Cohen etc....they all offer what I call FeelGoodism.....they have grown quite adept at the use of language and very basic entry level practices that promote a passing state of bliss... Most folks don't want enlightenment, they want happiness and bliss....these Pop Spiritual folks have gotten good at selling bliss....and they sell it for what the Market will pay in essentially an open market transaction. Most folks just want an easy path to feeling good...and they are willing to buy it from folks that will sell it to them....and its a Buyers Market, not a Seller's Market, if the Seller isn't making the Buyer feel good, the buyer spends their money elsewhere....if the Seller is making the Buyer feel REALLY good he or she may be willing to give the Seller everything they have to keep feeling good and to feel even better ;-) Its all just the MarketPlace of Feelgoodism I use to read Deepak's materal a lot. At the time I would reason that he was only trying to atract other egos with the wealth lure. Some people wouldn't find an enlightened guy sitting in the dirt very attractive. Then you have a lot of rich people need to be enlightened and become more loving and sharing. It seems the trickle-down effect takes a very long time as the wealhty get ideas they ae special in some way. Even gangsters think the same thing. Then enlighten people do believe it seems that the greatest good is to not ever think a negative thought. Which is probably correct. But what gets me is that even if they create wealth and show the world and even if it was for to lure the ego it could still be used for the good of the whole and not only the ones who can afford it. Deepak and others just seems to me at my level of understanding that they are being to selfish. Some might can follow the selfish way to God but somehing tells me it is not the correct or Highest path.

Any of us could have been a Deepak or Tolle, etc. - it's all a matter of being at the right juncture - the right place at the right time. I sense good from them, tbh. But, how do we know which thoughts are negative? We can't know....love will break it down for us. my 2 pennies~

If he's catering to the rich for some potentially valid reason, as you imply, can he also serve the poor or average at the same time, as you recommend?

I disagree that Chopra panders to the rich www.choprafoundation.org/about/mission/www.choprafoundation.org/#Think he would give me a bowl of rice?

Think he would give me a bowl of rice? What does giving you a bowl of rice do for you?

You tell me, your the super genius enlightened one. I'd say if his approach, message and persona and environment is designed for the reasonably affluent, then it likely isn't compatible with those who can't identify with the message or afford the seminars. It's really just hypothetical since I don't know what he charges.

I would wonder first if everyone could be multi-millionaires as is proposed in their greed books. Can everyone be millionaires? Then is their greed harming people in the world? We could say that they are trusting in money and not God, but since they believe God is a joke they have no reason to trust in nothing.
