Don't fool yourself. A relative truth is not a truth at all. There is only one truth and it's the truth of life in its contingent and obscene materiality. That we are this ugly creatures with these frail and disgusting bodies with internal organs, full of urine, feces and bacteria, all this slime, fat, bones, blood. And a nature that feeds on itself in unimaginable cruelty, all the diseases, decaying bodies. This is the trauma of man, that he is thrown into this pure contingency, without rhyme or reason. This truth is just a brutal fact, because it has no reason from which it follows, that's why it is impossible to accept, that the truth of life is this disgusting filth. It's easy to accept life if you're watching it from the perspective of some kind of imagined absolute subjectivity. But to fully accept life in its obscene materiality is impossible, you have to keep this reality away and maintain whatever illusion, otherwise this inhuman truth will destroy you.

Yeah, it always happens that when you tread turf that is "out at the limit" as Laughy called it, language fails and attempts can lead to TMT. Ever had an experience where "you" where just an observed phenomena occurring, with no definable observer and no sense of personal engagement in whatever "you" were doing or thinking? I don't think in terms of 'an experience' which is then recorded and categorized. Its more like one long continuous note being played, if that makes any sense. So I'm not sure how you cut that up into segments. but yes, I'd say I am familiar with "no sense of personal engagement" I get ya....for me, its less like a long note, and more like a constant shifting in this moment. But in any case, I think there is almost a fear of being "plain spoken" here because there is so much word lawyering and a sense of right and wrong approach that pervades here. At least on my part anyway. Use of the word "state" is a good example. There seems to be this pervading wisdom that "states" should be avoided, or at least not sought...and that realization is paramount etc. Seems to me that there is nothing wrong with engendering states of alertness, object/subject union, oneness, etc... The whole pervading neo-advaitic view seems to create an environment of correct and incorrect Speeeerutchal speak where one has to go out of their way to make it clear that they are not trying to "do" anything or "be" any particular way lol Its kinda a comical dance actually. I say F**k it, I like the hyper wakefulness of absolute subjectivity, and the maintaining of a perspective where this bodymind and all other phenomena is more the object than the subject. I like the "state" where the "I" experience is altogether absent and there is only raw open experience lol All those word lawyering neo-advaitic dreaming feelgooders can suck my left nut lol That goes for most of the TAT wack jobs I've seen too....though Richard seemed to have some pretty awake moments ;-)

You're kinda proving my point my penistard friend...that truth, that you just spooged out of your mental masterbation is a point of view that relates to where you place your attention....there is also the unfathomable beauty of a sunset, the bliss of the chemical cascade that occurs in the brain in seemingly divine experiences or realization, the bodies frailty is juxtaposed by its amazing ability to survive the most traumatic mutilation of flesh, bones, and neural tissue. The wonder of almost unimaginable bio-diversity and adaptability. There is science that says that a big part of feeling of love comes from a matching of the synchronicity of the bacteria mix unique to different people, and that the more your bacteria matches the bacteria profile in another's gut the greater the attraction....yes, everything you said is true, but its one perspective based on where your attention is focussed...shift your attention and your truth shifts too. As far as my "imagined" states, well, doesn't seem so imaginary to me, at least no more imaginary than you thinking that the taste of your own shít is produced by a chemical instead of an interpretation of your mind ;-)

Seems like there is a lot of emphasis on Realization. What do you see as the most _________ of this path? Realization, or releasing the objectivity of body/mind centeredness into an absolute subjectivity and why? What is your opinion or experience of Absolute Subjectivity, and how does it relate to Realization? firstly, to 'choose' brings us into the moment, if an when we are in the mind an ones mind isn't stationed at the centre of gravity, ie, having to choose brings us into our power centre. Realisation is to do with the acknowledgement that one already knew, but needed to rise-up an devide into minds duality so that one can perform objectively. Without the mind we remain subject an with a Mind we are both subjective an objective. Realisation is never leaving Home.

Seems like there is a lot of emphasis on Realization. The biggies for me have been: "The comic absurdity of meaningless perfect existence." "The openness of 'Not Knowing'" and "The loss of the foundation of Selfhood or 'I' ". These Realizations use to be important to me. But now they seem secondary to Subjectivity Seems to me that the "goal" or whatever of this path, or our existence, is not realization, but to be absorbed in the totality of our being instead of the body/mind perspective....i.e. the entire ocean and not just the wave in its various aspects. What do you see as the most _________ of this path? Realization, or releasing the objectivity of body/mind centeredness into an absolute subjectivity and why? What is your opinion or experience of Absolute Subjectivity, and how does it relate to Realization? (** chews ice cube **)

I can totally see this side (it was one of those days for me), but I can just as easily see the other side - and you?

The goal if there ever was one is self honesty. Nothing genuine can occur without this. Okay, and what is the "goal" of self honesty, what is the "result".Also, what is a genuine occurrence? clear (as in unobstructed) self knowledge ... and not knowledge as in any new information
