Not sure where I'm going with this one. It seems like there is a metaphor here, applicable to life in general/interactions in this forum/movement of energy. But you tell me.... maybe I just had too much sun...
Today on the beach I was watching these two men throw a frisbee back and forth. Man #1 just stood there, catching the frisbee expertly and with very little movement on his part required, in fact he looked bored. Whereas Man #2 was running all over the place, expending lots of energy to catch the frisbee.
I couldn't figure it out. Man #2 looked like a really bad frisbee player, because he kept running, diving, jumping to catch. Yet when he threw, the frisbee went efficiently and precisely into Man #1's hands. Every. Single. Time.
Whereas Man #1 appeared to be expert because he barely had to move to catch, yet after watching for a long time, you could see he was a horrible thrower, requiring Man #2 to have to run and dive and jump to catch.
As I continued to watch, I started to wonder... does Man #1 have some sort of magic? Like a magnet, the frisbee just falls into his hand, no matter how well or poorly it is thrown? And Man #2 doesn't have that same magnetic attraction, so the frisbee goes all over the map, not into his hand?

Man #1 is an uninspired Frisbee player.. man #2 is inspired to play, run, get into the experience, he enjoys Life and lives it with gusto, and is making it easy for man #1 to appear 'expert', but.. as a former Team Frisbee Player, if you appear bored you're just not into it.. good Frisbee play is an 'art-form'.. Be well..

Be still .. and know that you can't know

But when one looks close enough, it becomes clear who is graced and precise in giving AND receiving.

Be well.. Is the goal to aim for and get the frisbee into your partner's hand? Or to make them work for it? Or does it depend on your intention, i.e., to burn calories vs practicing skillful, accurate aim?

The other was great at receiving but lousy at giving. Love your answer though.

The one time he had to take a few steps to catch the frisbee, children walked behind him, and he seemed distracted by them. That got me wondering about the magnetic attraction or some other magic going on between him and the frisbee. Was he "bored" or was he in some sort of concentrated trance, willing the frisbee into his hand each time?

Hi SQ: Generally, the goal is to position the Frisbee so that the receiver has the most options for successfully continuing play, or for demonstrating the most creative skills for catching the flying disc.. Frisbee Golf is a skill-set that is based on placement accuracy for hitting the pole/hole over a course that has natural obstacles.. so, you may have observed decent players from differing styles of Frisbee play, still.. Frisbee is so creative and so much fun it's difficult to imagine a 'bored' player.. Be well..

LOL, yeah, i get that.. it is my experience that when Frisbee players get together there is a really enjoyable excitement for exploring the capabilities of the physical vehicle's relationship with natural forces.. Here's some nice Team Play.. Be well..
