Will this mean that we have to be rasty and belligerent in the ne'er-do-well's section? (j/k)
It could be called The Parking Lot.

Greetings.. Greetings.. Swell.. now there will be another tool in the bag of those that want to judge others.. you belong in the 'kiddy section', no you belong in the 'thugs section'.. and off it goes, again.. Let the non-persons debate their non person-ness with whatever decorum they like at 'Realizing Happiness', E wants people to 'grow the ef up', let him shepherd the 'last man standing' group over there.. Things work okay here, E and crew have a place of their own, why should they bully this forum into 'their' place? if it's not working at RH, figure-out 'why'.. Be well.. Not a bad point. There could be a movement to be extra bullyish in the not-Nice area. But think of it this way, you could have an all out fight with the Borg in one area and have Open Honest discussion in the other. (As long as Honest includes staying within the guidelines.) If only that were accurate, but.. the Borg is not interested in anything but bullying people into submission.. it's not a 'fight' with the Borg, that would involve honestly getting involved and putting their beliefs at risk by actually examining them.. it's just a place where they can display more hostility without the staff feeling guilty for not doing something about it.. E wants to get tough and stomp his feet and threaten, but.. it's empty, it's virtual temper-tantrums.. if there's no intention to examine their own beliefs, why bother.. It sounds like a place for the indoctrination and reprogramming crew to fire-up those old tactic, again.. Be well..

My guess is that when the moderating starts there will be some subjects of that moderation that will express some surprise.

Thing is, that they have been masters at 'working the rules' to their favour....they use the rules effectively as part of the bullying. I think the bullying may decline because they won't be able to do that anymore. We will see I guess. Steve is a classic example. His recent 'offense' was minor really compared to what happens here some of the time, yet he broke the rules and had to go.

OK, I've written to Shawn. Something that may be relevant is that even in an unmoderated section, we're still bound by the parent website's terms and conditions. Specifically these: www.proboards.com/tosThere does seem to be a risk here that Spiritual Teachers could be shut down if someone tries to find out just how unmoderated, unmoderated really is.... But of course, this is all about wanting this forum to be a place for Adults who behave in an Adult manner, so I'm sure that'll be fine.

This suggestion as been presented before, but I think its worth presenting again. The suggestion is for the splitting of this singular discussion area into two discussion areas. One has an expectation of decorum, courteous discussion with no baiting or poking people personally. The other discussion area is laissez-fair, ZD style moderation, anything goes. The peeps who want courteous discussion can stay in the courteous discussion section. The peeps who want to build their self-awareness skills and submit themselves to poking and prodding can participate in that discussion area. Then peeps can sort themselves out and participate to their comfort level. Those that are poked and prodded are there willingly and knowing its going to happen and accept that they've agreed to it. Anyone else in agreement with this? Then we can escalate the issue up to the site owner. So one kids section and one adult section? Agreed, one for blinders on and one for blinders off...

Ha, a no drama section of the forum. Good luck! Methinks it's As The World Turns drama vs. Pulp Fiction drama, or something. Bill Cosby vs. Bill Hicks.

'Bluntness' isn't what I am talking about. I am saying that if people are just in the moderated section with the sole intention of pushing the line, then they are in that section for the wrong reason. It would really be tantamount to trolling. I'm hoping that the existence of the un-moderated section would give me some extra ammunition like: "Why are you being provocative here? Please take it to the un-moderated section" and if they don't then I've got more justification for taking action. The "I was helping them see their attachment to their delusions" argument won't carry as much weight. Plus I can pull out any suspect posts, move them to the other section and then the person being apparently provoked can decide if they want to walk down that path or not. Actually this has come up so many times before....I think I'd like to give it a try this time. It can always sit unused if the idea is not popular. Or it'll take over completely and that's fine too. If no one has any compelling argument for NOT giving this a try, then can I suggest the new section be labelled: Un-moderated DiscussionChallenging of beliefs, perceptions and sacred cows attachments welcome....or suggest otherwise. Let's make as little work for you as possible. If there is approval, I suggest turning the existing section into the "Un-moderated Discussion" and create a new section for "Moderated Discussion". If you turn this section into the moderated discussion then you're going to be spending a fair amount of time "re-training" a few old dogs about where to post confrontation and challenging of beliefs. Those that are seeking a less confrontational atmosphere can migrate discussions or start new discussions in an immaculate environment (no pre-existing associations).

"Please consider supporting this website by disabling your ad-blocker. This website does not use audio ads, popups, or other annoyances. Thank you!" annoyances, huh? obviously proboards isn't aware of Peter-Pan-Top. ;-)

We could try this new board idea out over at RealizingHappiness for a month to see how it works. I wonder if enigma would mind? Reefs already had the option to take up residence in the land of milk and honey, but apparently decided to remain here for reasons that he never quite made clear... You mock?
