Sorry, verbed, this is unclear to me how it applies. Is this supporting, rejecting, or noncommittal on my post? Supportive. Okay. Thought so, just wasn't sure (still fuzzy on the metaphorical stuff).

For all the people that are complaining about Enigma ruling the roost and being the center of the forum, they need to look at their own fixation on him and making him the center of the forum. Complaining about it is just doing exactly what is being complained about. Enigma's detractors place him on a higher pedestal (to tear him down from it) than his supporters do. Can you please tell me where there is a complaint in any post of mine in the past couple of days? Even suggesting that he be banned isn't complaining. It's only suggesting that he be banned. Whatever. Actually, I'd say he pretty much assumes his own power. And, he maintains it through his tactics--i.e., always walking the fine line; never revealing too much about himself; rarely saying a kind word to anyone, while also never saying anything harsh; saying stuff that peeps rez with, only to contradict himself days later; not hearing a peep from him while the rest of us talk about him and what he says; etc. Not saying there's anything wrong with this. Not even saying that he's even conscious of it. But, that's what's happening. I'll grant that there are some who could probably take or leave what he says here, and I rather envy those folks, but, I think if you examined every post, say in the last year, (that treat of a spiritual topic of any kind) you'd see that the vast majority are either a) by him b) in response to him or c) in reference to him. Most, if not all of those who are indifferent don't post or read very much, I'd say. He just has that effect on peeps, and I wouldn't doubt if it were intentional. He's like a Jesus figure, without the Romans to just get rid of him. He's the Big Daddy. Face it. Figgles challenges his ideas; Andrew challenges his ideas; I have challenged his ideas (and, I'll admit, I've challenged him personally); Silver, Arisha have challenged both his ideas, as well as his morality; Tzu challenges his ideas ad perpetuam; silence supports him; Reefs is veritable minion. The only long-standing, senior member (I mean, like, with a bunch of posts) I've never seen challenge him or support him is Zendancer. The world always gets real simple just before a crime of passion.

Given the fact that Steve started it, not likely. I mean, everyone knows temp bans don't work! So, you're finally convinced?

You're fingering the wrong guy, Steve. Enigma is the one that should go. Reeks is only a minion. Et tu, Brungust? Why can't every person be responsible for their own actions? It's all the people that place Enigma at the center of some ring or gang or club that are giving him special status and the perception of being a ring leader. There's an echo chamber over that perception, you are all feeding off eachother reinforcing it in each other. I think "Brutingus" might have been the sattraction you were reaching for top ...

These flashmobs that form-up on the frog-hunts are just pure slapstick. I've spoken with each of you, B', Silver, Steve, verbed, and I know that you have it in your hearts to just let the frog-hooks go. It really is all that the amphibian is asking for, and I've seen him extend olive branches to each of you. In a way it's good that this can get aired out. ... seems I got alot of self-plagurization goin' on these days ... I have a vision for us. One that involves the angels of our better nature, and I'm not being sarcastic with that. Red pitchforks lean against a barn wall The wall is weatherbeaten, peeling paint, also red A soft spring breeze waves the long grass back and forth in a lazy dance It's the only sound around, except for the livestock Turning the sun into food is a slow, gradual process So the sounds of a farm are generally peaceful The pitchforks are a dusty red They're used to dig up the ground, turn it over Moisture in the ground clings to the metal, and it catalyzes corrosion There's no blood on the forks. It's just rust. In the barn, stacked up and away in far shelves One might find boxes of torches These smell of pitch and give off dust when moved around In the night they give off light Light that staves off the darkness These torches were never used to burn anything Just to light the way

I value your perspective here quite a bit B' for many reasons and I've learned from you. In my opinion, you haven't been paying attention. Both top, myself and ZD have challenged and disagreed with E on more than one occasion in the year+ I've been here. My last disagreement with him was based on my joke about how "a little sweetness goes a long way".

Isn't that a little like asking the fish you just caught to unhook himself, so that he can be free? You, yourself, have mentioned the 'mind hooks' that he casts. This is why the focus is always on him. No E, no mind hooks. No mind hooks, no focus on E.

The thing is, they make everyone else's business their business and so others' thoughtful discussions are never free to unfold 'naturally'! That's what I think is stifling everyone else who doesn't 'think like they do.' Too obvious and yet - most are too ___ to fight it because of their aggressiveness. I think a fitting name for them would be The Smothers Brothers. I wish it were funnier. So, just keep playing up the 'silliness' of it all, because things are as they ever are.

Let's destroy all pornography, hardcore or softcore, destroy all nude paintings in the world and let's make all women wear burqas, lest we be tempted to rub one out and sin in God's eyes.
